    Morning

You certainly seem more determined to get through to the council today ;) Good on ya! Dont let the bas*ards get you down - you have a baby and yourself to take care of. As said on the phone yesterday if needed you know the number.

The hot chocolate and biccies helped then did they?

"The bailiff should at all times use his professional judgement to refer back to the Council if he considers that, due to the personal circumstances of the debtor, it would be inappropriate to proceed to levy distress. In particular, cases such as:
    Is heavily pregnant.
Long term sickness or serious illness
Is unemployed and provides proof that they are in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), payments from the Department of Works and Pension (DWP) and details are obtained of the debtors National Insurance number
Is consulting his or her local councillor or Member of Parliament."

eeenterseting, wonder what the council will have to say about his?

oh no..this really isn't our week!
my boyfriend just called and his wages haven't been paid today, and as ever his employer is far from understanding and says theres nothing they can do to help.
Just contacted the job centre for a crisis loan and they won't see me until tuesday- even though I stressed that I am pregnant and we are broke, they just said they don't have any appointments left
    argh
So another thing to moan to CAB about!
I cannnot wait until I am back at work and financially secure- I really can't.

    Hi starlite

Only just seen this thread. I'm with the others DON'T OPEN THE DOOR. You sound as though you're going to leave yourselves short by the amount you were offering to pay back, and if you fail, then what? You're going to loose the few things you have that you're currently trying to protect.

Check out the 'entitled to' website given to you. Maybe you can use the money that you'll receive once baby is born for moving.

Sorry - Ididn't notice this post earlier, hopefully the council will agree to take the debt out of my benefits when I finally get them- and I read this is a macximum of £2.75 per week, not sure how my boyfriends earnings will affect this possibility but i'll ask the CAB.
I have checked entitledto and have requersted a claim form for the surestart grant so hopefully that won't take too long to process
And no I won't be opening the door! I had planned to go out but all friends are at work or on holiday, so i'll just have to sit tight.

  • How can an employer not pay wages and then say that there is nothing he can do

How do such people sleep at night?
