Hi Starlite
Stay strong today and calm. When speaking to anyone at council ask to speak to someone with authority - a manager at least, to stress your situation and get the best advice - if anything can be done they should know - do not get fobbed off by anyone
I shall be thinking of you0 -
As my step daughter points out...technically money does grow on trees, as its made from paper...and paper is made from wood...which comes from trees. And yes she's regularly told that she's a smart !!!!!!...just like her father.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Starlite !!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you are feeling a bit better this afternoon
Did you write your letter of an offer (realistically only what you can afford) and set out first with I know my rights regarding to (organisations) ppl you spoke with and explaining that you have been advised to ask him to accept the offer as you will in no way be opening your door and your current state of health and b/f working on a training course ............. Just enough so he gets the jist of your financial problems but can see it being hopless to get blood from a stone and PUT IT HANGING OUT YOUR LETTER BOX ......... This may be enough to saticfy him that further visits would prove fruitless and he may just hand it back to the council......... This is better than just ignoring the door as that could make him come back several times to catch you ........ this way you ignore the door and he knows its pointless as you state in the letter you will not allow him in£2.00 savings club =£2.000 -

Oh my god - close shave there!
I didn't realise my flatmate was home, and he answered the door!
Fortunately he told him to wait and came up to get me, and realising what was happening i dashed out of our flat door, locking it behind me and into the shared hall thinking at least that would be better than him getting into the flat. he was actually still outon the pavement and han't taken the opportunity 'to get a foot in'
I told him i have been advised not to let him in, and he said in that case we don't have an arangement and if I didn't let him in now he would only be back with police.
He then insisted I had no right to refuse him entry, but I calmly told him I am aware of my rights.
I also informed him he is acting in breach of the councils policy, as quoted from their website, by harassing a pregnant woman on benefit, and that he should be in touch with them and pass the case back
He basically laughed in my face and again hassled to come in.
I closed the door on him, and said o go away and he said, 'well i may aswell not waste my time- I've got more co operative people to see.'
I am going to call the council now, and the bailiffs head office and if i still get no luck i will contact an independent commision to review this practice.
phew..I'm a little shaken but proud to have stood my ground
And by the way - he's a huge burly man looking guy..talk about stereotypes!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
