I just don't understand Facebook - is there an idiot's guide somewhere? One that covers people who suffer from senile/blonde moments - or minutes or hours?

Can some clever person here tell what the difference is between a muffin and a cupcake? ThanksWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Hi everyone :hello:
Thought I better pop in and say that I am still here in the land of the living. Have had a stupidly busy week, both at work and at home so havent been on very much at all, and think I last caught up to about page 20 so have abandoned all hope of reading it now. I havent a clue who needs hugs, well dones or anything else but I send my love to all.
Sorry pigpen I have done NO flying this week, I have been so knackered I've been taking myself to bed early and looking after number 1 for a change.
Today the sum total of what I have done is loaded dishwasher, taken DD and doogie for a walk into town to get a new hairdryer as other 2 have died. OH defrosted the big freezer for me (Bless him) so Ive relisted all the contents and meal planned for the next MONTH !!!! Well after going £105 over my grocery budget challenge for March, I thought I better do something. Have cooked a roast chicken for tomorrow (as going into work) and baked a gammon for use during the week.
Thats it and I'm not doing any more tonight, the kitchen can stay a mess and I'll get up early and clean it before I go to work.
Take care and I hope to catch up with you all a bit more next week.
Lotsa love Kaz x
PS I understand the difference as Muffins are generally considered a little bit healthier, they're usually made with oil rather than butter/marg and have less sugar but I suppose that is counteracted by the fact that they are usually larger !!!Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

OMG - I've just checked the latest lot I have on ebay. One particular item is from quite a niche area. There is a bid on it. Given the name of the bidder, I am 99.7% certain I know that bidder well. I am 90% certain the bidder doesn't know I am the seller.
My initial instinct was to email the bidder and say hey, you can have it now for that price and I'll not charge you postage as we're seeing each other in the week anyway. But, as there are two watchers - should I just ignore the temptation to eamil and see how it pans out in the end and hope the initial bidder is outbid so I don't have to take their money? Because if that bidder does go higher with the bid I would feel so guilty taking the money....
What would you do ladies?

To me, a cupcake is the same as a fairy cake (half fat to flour etc.)- made just like a standard sponge cake but split amongst little paper cases instead of being done in one larger tin.
To me, a muffin involves using baking powder etc. and making a lighter cake mix so they rise seriously well.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Thats basically what I thought but many of the cupcake recipes on line, are huge and also say use a muffin case/tinWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
If the recipes are American that's probably why.
Soappie, I am clueless with Facebook too (if you all get random 'crap' from me I am sorry) with the Ebay, hmmm, dunno :rotfl: think I'd hold it out until the end of the auction, if it comes up then email them saying about potage etc. I had an awkward one when I bought something that belonged to a friend which he left when him and his wife seperated, from his ex wife.
Oh and just to let you all know, I've done sweet faff all this evening...One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Sorry this might seem terrible but I have just nearly wet myself laughing. Last year as many know we moved due to issues with bad neighbours to say the least. DP just took someone home who lives there. Supposedly the neighbours are now having problems with those who moved into our house, describing them as neighbours from hell, what a shame? They are now trying to get them evicted. What goes around comes around? I do in a way feel for the neighbours on the other side who were nice, but when we asked for their support with the problems they basically did nothing. One day I might be more organised...........

soappie - why dont you see how it pans out, if that person wins it then phone them and ask was it them, and if it was then give it to them at the price it was when you realised it was them, or whatever price you feel is acceptable to accept IYSWIM. If someone else wins then you get the money without guilt.
If you feel the "friend" really deserves the item and you want them specifically to have it, then I suppose you need to decide how much if anything you want to accept from them, then phone them and get them to bid a crazy high amount so noone else wins, and then settle it privately. Does that make sense ? Good luckJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
NSDs: 3
Walk to school: 2/47
Bloater challenge: £0/0lbs0
