you can easily miss out the fat, milk powder and sugar from bread -saving 16 syns:j
The fat is mainly to help keep the bread fresh for longer...i slice and freeze it so don't need it..
the sugar to help the yeast along and milk helps make a softer loaf... we like crusty so i can miss it all out ;)

My hubby generally likes crusty white bread and i use:-
    300ml warm water
    14g fresh yeast
    500g bread flour
    3tsp salt
and it makes a lovely crusty 2lb loaf ..Not sure what ratio of white to wholemeal i would use though...although im making a granary and seed loaf later so will let you know what happens :rotfl: ....thats for me.... as much as i love crusty white I fancy something different ;)

Seraphina.... I always found low fat yoghurts etc far to synthetic and sweet.... and i now really do believe that all the "low fat, sweetener filled" products just confuse the body... since geting rid of most of that and going back to full fat versions etc.. I no longer get cravings for choc etc.... and really don't fancy any of that sort of stuff. Since starting my healthy eating/weightloss journey..(not a diet) back in August... i have had a bit of choc over xmas and that is all... non before and non in the 14 weeks since  ...at last i have found a way of eating that i can carry on with for the rest of my life :T i still have 4st 9.5lbs to shift..but know im going to get there...and have lost 5st 8.5lbs allready without feeling deprived :D

The website is a bit hectic for my liking, but if you concentrate on the recipes, there's some great stuff there including bread and cakes (sounds good to me!)
Hectic is a bit of an understatement :rotfl: I've had a look at this site and yes it does have a huge amount of recipes there and I know folks on the WWs forums love it.

I'm inspired by your weight loss Becky:T I know WWs will work for me, I've lost weight on it before. I'm just struggling to make myself do the work of counting points -I think Core will just get on my nerves too much -why can't I have bread, even wholemeal ? (I'd be saving my points for wine I'm afraid). I do like the fact that you don't have to count most veg though:think:

I also seem to be eating so many eggs. Almost every day I have at least one and that cannot be that good can it?
Eggs are good for you, packed with protein and I find eggs for breakfast mean I don't get hungry again till lunch. See here and here.

Thanks MrsM I dont tend to eat bread and definately dont make my own.

Very good article recently that said that if you try and fool your body with sweetners then you will crave sweet stuff even more, and you are better off having something small and sweet that you fancy rather than thinking a sweetner filled snack will work.

Well done on the weightloss, thats very impressive :)[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

I did the SW diet 5 years ago - I didn't go to classes, I just borrowed my sister's books.
I lost just under 3 stone in 5 months BUT I did exercise every day too.
I've kept all but half a stone off, mainly by exercising and keeping roughly to the principle of 'red' and 'green' days. If I'm having pasta at night, I'll probably have a jacket potato & baked beans for lunch.

My sister seemed to live on big plates of pasta and tinned chopped tomatoes when she was on the diet but I love cooking and wanted to continue to make interesting food. I knew that if I didn't, I'd never keep it up.

I found that I could adapt a lot of my recipes - for example, Moussaka with a slimming topping of fat-free yoghurt & eggs is sin-free on 'red' and with a salad of cucumber, tomatoes and red onion is delicious.
You can also use it for vegetarian Lasagne on 'green'.

Also, Risotto can be made almost sin-free.
Non slimming, I use stock and put tuna in, but it CAN be done with Quorn with water or Bovril from the jar instead of stock.

Sure, these dishes may not be quite as tasty as the 'fatty' versions but as they say 'no pain, no gain'.

    Right, enough is ENOUGH!!

I am going to be a REBEL!!!!

I am going to carry on SW but stop having Mullerlights, shop bought bread or any other cr*p processed stuff.
I'm going back to my homemade yogurt, ricotta, sourdough bread, bacon, ham, smoked meats and I've been inspired to try making cheddar again!

LOL, I can just picture the face of my consultant if I suggest to the group they make their own cheddar!!! :rotfl:

    Courgette Feta Pasta

    Cook vermicelli pasta.
Saute in some chicken bovril, cubed courgettes and fennel seeds.
Serve pasta with courgettes and cubed feta cheese. Wait a little and the feta will soften into the pasta. Yum.Yum.Yum!!
