Donna, many congratulations to Luke and his team:T Glad they've got their reward at last. Now we'll have to keep everything crossed for the final:D

kyle, hope DS1 gets better and doesn't need the hospital. How are you feeling?

We had a lovely venison casserole today. I only had a small portion ( despite venison being a lower-fat meat) so I was hungry again, and have just had a jam sandwich. You don't think there's a connection there as to why I'm not losing weight:rotfl: :rotfl: Oh well tomorrow's another day.

    Hope you have good evenings:D

Churchmouse, I'm not losing weight either - as you may have guessed from my sig :o I have been going swimming or to Aqua Aerobics 2-3 times a week, and I feel much fitter and look quite a lot more toned than I did, but in six months since I joined the gym I have lost...

    ...wait for it...

    ...2lbs :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway my weight is coming out of my sig and the April Grocery Challenge is going in, so it won't be quite so embarrassing! :D

I've made my fish pie, am going to do the lemon drizzle cake too, but might leave it until tomorrow to make the soup... it's getting late!

    Hi everyone!
Hugs to all those who need them especially Smokey.
It's been a quietly productive day today. OH has been away doing a show this weekend so it's just been me and the small person and I have to say I've really enjoyed his company. He's made his first phonecall to my parents today...thought he should probably know how to do this in addition to memorising our number and ringing 999...just incase we're on our own and I do something daft:D
On the OS front I've ironed the school uniform and got the lunches ready for tomorrow. I also made a SC sausage hotpot for tea and there's a portion left for OH for when he gets in [how OS is that:eek:] as he'll have been eating carp all weekend. This afternoon we went to see my parents [nice long walk up there to wear the small person out] and yattered and knitted over a couple of cups of tea. Have also managed to make inroads into an old duvet cover which has seen better days...I'm splitting it into two along the seams and will use it as backing for quilts. The old waste not want not mentality. My sister's very kindly passed over 5 skirts that she no longer wants and if they don't fit they will also go into the fabric scrap bag. It's amazing just how often I have to delve in there looking for material - usually for school projects. You know the ones where they give you 20 mins notice to send your child in in full Tudor costume:D
Anyway hope you all have a good week.

    Evening all,

Really busy to-day...to airport with DS2 for 8am...back, cooked breakfast, shopped ( haven't added up yet and don't want to as it was way more than I meant to spend! Cooked 1.6k mince....spaghetti with meatballs for to-day ( and another portion for someone another day), burgers made and frozen and mince, onion, carrots, oatmeal and Oxos cooked and frozen in 2 lots for another 2 dinners. Spent some time discussing with DD4 what I really should do with kitchen ( used to be indecisive now just can't make up my mind!) and then spotted neighbour who has been ill so ran across for an update, sat down and chatted for ages...so much so that DD4 rang me to know where I was...seems that nobody had seen me leave house so there was a general panic as car was still outside and I was nowhere to be found!

Smoky....hope that you are still hanging in there...that's all you need to do for now pet...your children will not be upset by knowing that you are grieving, it is natural and children seem to understand better when we are honest with them...hugs and don't forget all the shoulders you can use if you need to.

Mioliere...my late father always thought that his birthday was 31st March, until he had to get a birth certificate for something and discovered that it was 1st April...we never let him forget it to the day he died! Hope that your OH has had a lovely day.

Kyle, hope that DS doesn't have to go to hospital.

PenPen...glad that Italy was good...is it ever not??

PenPin...hope that you are feeling better now

Can't remember who said what...think that I need to go to bed soon...welcome to newbies and hugs to those in need of one

  • Evening all :hello:
I hope that everyone's had a good day, my thoughts are with anybody feeling poorly.
I've just had one of Twink's hobnobs with a cuppa :p yummy
Knitted some dishclothes today and finished off a pair of socks. I'm staying at my mum's at the moment so we took the dogs out for a walk and had roast chicken for dinner and poached eggs on toast for tea. Just boiled up the chicken bones to make some yummy stock :)
I'm off to bed soon because I've been sleeping in a bit lately and not getting things done!
    Best wishes to all x
  • Just thought id update

Went to see my poorly sisten today at Hospital. She hasnt had a good day but still dont know the real cause. They are planning an operation tommorow with a view to finding the problem. She is ok but obviously down. She loved the card my little girl and i had made for her last night.

She had a bit of an episode tonight and had 3 doctors round but her veins had collapsed. Currently getting some blood tranfusions so not going to be a good night for her tonight.

Think i will drive over again tommorow to see her

Oh gazza, sorry to hear your sister's not doing so well. Hope she gets some rest tonight. I'm sure your visit cheered her, so it'd be good to go again tomorrow, if you can manage it. ((hugs)) to you both, and I hope they find what's causing it soon.
