I've read the posts on here that it can be any cheap shower gel or bubble bath. I'm added that on my list so will start it today - its amazing how much soap we get through in our house and i begrudge paying normal pieces for the pump dispenser and i don't like bars of soap - i always think they're a bit un-hygenic although I'm sure they're not.Trying to save money and always open to ideas and expecting our first child in March 2015.0

Can we use ANY bubble bath for this?
Yes any. I've been doing this since my kids were little (they're late 20s now) and nobody has had any sort of reaction to the stuff. I buy the 78p(ish) a litre one from Asda not the very cheapest as we all have fairly dry skin. I have a sweet smelling one in the bathroom and a fresh smelling one in the kitchen.....works a treatI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Popped into Morrisons where they have 5 x 750ml for £3. Added to 2 empty soap dispensers and still have 4 bottles and a bit left.
Even on offer at Tesco this week 4 x 300ml handwash for £3 is over 3 times as expensive as doing it this way.

My OH likes the branded goods so I have found a way of nit buying them and he can't moan. We both work long hours so now and then buy our groceries from the internet - Sainsburys does free delivery at certain times if you spend X amount for instance.
I then get the own brand head & shoulders, tea bags etc and when they get delivered i tell him that they must have run out and have sent these subsitutions instead. He can't moan as i tell him I ordered Head & Shoulders its not my fault they are out of stock.
He loves the Original Source Mint Shower Gel but its over £2.50 so i buy a supermarket branded one for less than a £1 and fill his bottle up. He's never noticed!
I use Baby Lotion as a make up remover and its fantastic. I bought a 500ml bottle in Boots Christmas '08 for £0.99 and it was on a BOGOF. Now 14 moths months later i am coming to the end of this bottle so make up remover for 50p that lasts 14 months is fantastic. My skin looks better as well and i swear the lines by my eyes are less noticeable. The problem is that now I have to remember where I put the BOGOF bottle 14 months ago!
I use value tinned tomatoes and baked beans and add to them shepherds pies, casseroles, lasagnes and spag bol. Baked Beans count towards your 5 a day and as they're value there is always lot of juice in them so makes the dinners lovely.
I also pop to the shops most lunchtimes even if we have had the shopping delivered and I picked a whole duck in the co-operative store last week for £2.99. It had to be eaten or frozen that day so i popped it in the freezer and we're having duck for lunch tomorrow.
I also use the slow cooker a lot and we'll often eaten lamb shoulder which takes a lot of cooking on a slow heat. I add a lamb casserole mix to the pot with vegetables and leave it cooking all day then reheat some mash. Its so cheap to buy lamb shoulder (about £4 for half a shoulder) and if I'm going to be cooking carrots and onions all day in the slow cooker i buy value ones. You can't tell the difference when they've been slow cooked with spices all day.
I love the idea of using cheap bat foam or shower foam and decanting it into containers as hand wash. I am always washing my hands and the soap seems to go really quickly so I'm going to try that as soon as the soap runs out.
I had a bit of a triumph with my DH. He too likes branded toiletries although he is happy to have any that are on offer. Even so, they are quite expensive but he takes DS to tennis every Sat and I asked him to get something from the 99p shop nearby. He must have had a good look around because he came back with deodorants and shower gels, all branded and v pleased wth himself because they were only 99p each. I am much happier that we have managed to save on his toiletries!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

I like to use the big bottles of 'creme bath' to refill my handwash. It isn't as cheap as the basics/value items, but at around 60-80p for a litre bottle it is nice and moisturising for my hands.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I just bought some of this from Asda today its cream in colour and smelt nice. They also had Plastic soap dispensers with bubbles in for 50p each that I thought looked really good and quite classy - certainly not 50p each.
Just need to wait for our current soap to run out but i had a look and even the cheapest soap refill was 99p and we have 3 sinks in our house so it would be £3 for soap for them all and this way I think the bottle has enough to refill each pump twice meaning it would have cost me £6 and insyead has cost £2.30 and of course next time I won't have cost of the plastic pumps I have just boughtTrying to save money and always open to ideas and expecting our first child in March 2015.0 -
