I haven't got round to making any Gloop yet but was thinking about a suitable container when I realised it would have a blancmange texture. I think possibly one of those jumbo plastic ice cream container plastic boxes with a lid might be better than a bottle. Then you could just take the lid off and scoop out the quantity you need with a spoon.
yes, that would be a good idea! I used an empty plastic milk bottle and have to squeeze it to get it out and it is a bit difficult!!! I might use your idea for the next batch!0 -
Remember you can make laundry powder as well as gloop, recipes in the os recipe thread:D:DI made it but can't recall the exact recipe:o:o"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

how is everyone finding the gloop?
I am going to give it a go, but bought two boxes of tablets that were half price before I read this! Typical!
Is it harsh on your skin or clothes?0 -

And on a totally different topic of sneaky saving ways, what really does annoy me is that subliminal message which all the toothpaste manufacturers put across in adverts showing an inch or more of toothpaste being squeezed out onto a toothbrush. I wonder how many people have been conned by this and automatically squeeze out their inch or more every time they clean their teeth? A small blob the size of a frozen pea is actually quite sufficient.Dum Spiro Spero0

I'd really like to try the laundry gloop - trouble is OH's last temp job was with a company that makes powder etc. So I have 3 x large boxes Asda SP , 3 x sml boxes tesco colour, 2 x 48 boxes tablets plus I bought a big tub of powder in costco in November and still have more than half of it left:rotfl:
Still I can save the costco tub to store the gloop in0 -

It wasn't till I got an electric toothbrush that I realised this!
The amount of paste you use on the round brushes is quite adequate. I suspect that doing without paste wouldn't make much difference as it id the brushing that counts but I haven't been brave enough to try it!0 -

It won't appeal to many (including me) by my 88 y/o DM cleans her teeth by dipping her damp brush into a tiny amount of salt . She still has all her own, very white, teeth - just like these lol0 -
Can you still buy powdered scourers like Vim and Ajax? They seemed to last for a long while and did a good job if you were careful and didn't use them on the wrong surfaces.
Wasn't suggesting Sparrer's mum should use them to clean her teeth even though they'd be gleaming!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I would like to have a go at the weekend - bearing in mind that people say it sets like blamange - can I ask - what would be a suitable container to store it in (I have visions of the kitchen floor being covered in the stuff as I try and dislodge it from a bottle.
I use Ecover at the moment - but it's costing between £4 - £4.50 for the privilage.
