We're using Andrex atm as it was the cheapest last time I did an online shop at MrA. I'm not happy with it at all as it doesn't flush away properly :eek: Sorry if TMI but we don't have this problem with Shades which I would normally buy. With a DD who uses it like its going out of fashion its driving me nuts! I dread to think what it must be doing to the drains as a result :o

I have long nails too, never had a problem. Do you honestly think shea butter loo roll is a seriously good idea? It wouldn't solve your nail problem unless of course it softens your nails whilst wiping....:rotfl:

I hope I haven't offended with my comments...:)

I totally agree with you on the Shea Butter loo roll - I just meant I prefer the thicker paper.

I have long nails and thin paper and long nails just don't go together:eek:

I had to laugh at this - I too have very long nails and you only ever have a "thin toilet paper experience" ONCE .. EVER ... FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ..:eek::eek::o:o:o

This is a simple idea I've picked up from elsewhere on the internet.

Whilst you have the oven on roasting the meat or for cooking a casserole etc, put a roasting tray with sliced onions a little oil and some butter in the bottom of said oven and these will roast quite easily.

Can once cooled be put into a tub in the fridge and be used during the week to add into things as needed.

No need to chop and fry off onions each time some is needed for a recipe.

Hiya, I am still working towards cutting the electric bill even more and making it a bit of a self challange. It is quite low now but I bet other MSE have there's lower.

    I joined imeasure last week.

Rang Scotish Power to ask questions and check I was on the best possible rate. I was not:eek: so moved tarrif at their advice to save £8.70 per month.

Have also ordered radiator pannels from them to put behind my radaitors to save energy, reduce heating bills and keep warm. The design of the pannels encourages the warm air to stay in the room and not be absorbed into the walls behind the radiators.

Radiator panels are a bit of a double edged sword, yes they keep the heat in the room, but the heat doesn't spread as well. The walls stay cold and can get damp. You lose the 'all round' warmth

mama69 - this roasting of onions in a spare slot in the oven while something else is cooking is a good idea. We do it with our home grown beetroot which is a good way of cooking them because they retain their sweetness and don't leach out the colour as they do if cooked in water.
A mixture of roast vegetables is a good too, either to be heated up later, or if you include onions, red peppers & aubergines, they can be whizzed up in a blender and make a savoury dip or a tasty filling for sandwiches which is a good way of getting vegetables into children if they won't eat them on a plate.
