DD's friends Dad used to number the sheets of loo roll, and they were only allowed 1 sheet for a wee and 2 for a poo:eek::eek::eek:I used to send her with her own loo roll when she went to stay, he was soooo mean:mad::mad:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Is that true? I've not heard that before and (touch wood) have never had any problems with the drains and have been here for 20 years. Mind having said that, I don't use huge amounts (am too mean:p) and have trained the rest of the family too:D
Yes its true! My brother has a drain cleaning company. Babywipes are another one!. Expensive loo paper and of course condoms dont help!!:D
A lot of drains, especially in old towns etc have victorian pipework and its just not up to the job anymore!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

That explains it then - no condoms and baby wipes are flushed down my loo!:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi, we're having a cheap homemade takeaway for tea tonight, and its one of the families favourite.
We all sit around the table (thats the best bit) with bowls of chips, chicken nuggets (made from left over chicken), plate of homemade pizza slices (made in batch, frozen and taken out when required).
Costs a small fraction to what it would cost if we went to an actual takeaway and the kids love it!! (hubby and me quite enjoy it too! lol).Loving life to the full, just need purse full too

Also sanitary towels, tampons - next door had a blockage problem recently and the drain was full of them - there are 3 women in the house ! Don't put cotton buds down either is what I tell my lot.0 -

Bet the family would not use a lot of that:rotfl:
When I was a child my grandparents used to cut up squares of newspaper to use too. :rotfl::rotfl:
I wasn't however suggesting we should used those scratchy papers though. I was just commenting on VERY expensive loo roll. The value paper is quite sufficient for most peoples needs.0 -
I'm afraid I have to disagree (in the nicest possible way of course;)). I loathe cheap loo paper and only buy the Quilted sort. I have long nails and thin paper and long nails just don't go together:eek: I used to Charmin when it first came out but it seems to have got thinner (or if that just my imagination??)
I have long nails too, never had a problem. Do you honestly think shea butter loo roll is a seriously good idea? It wouldn't solve your nail problem unless of course it softens your nails whilst wiping....:rotfl:
I hope I haven't offended with my comments...:)0 -

I agree with Kingshir, I hate cheap toilet rolls and think you need at least twice as many squares to do the job so it doesn't work out any cheaper! I always stock up on Charmin when it's on offer at around 30p a roll.
As for shea butter being added, I imagine there will be people who buy it and swear by it, but I do think it's probably going a bit far :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
We used to buy Charmin, then we started to have problems with the drains.I read somewhere that it could be the loo roll causing the problem. We changed to a different one and have not had a problem since.0
