anyway several months ago husband repotted a basil plant and used some compost out the bin and wondered what was growing in with the basil plant after a while and realised it was some tomato plants - he def didnt put any seeds in.
2 plants one normal tomatoes and one cherry plum tomatoes they have grown so well both repotted into hanging baskets and have done better than the proper tomato plants!!
me too I always cut chicken breast, braising steak etc so much easier than using a knife0 -
went for a meal out last night(reward to OH for taking me late night shopping!)I took 3 different offer coupons from Martin's site and we had a lovely meal at Ask ....buy 1 main get 1 for £1 mmmmmmdidn't buy water(v expensive ) but no problem getting glass with ice and lemon.Have also used coupons for free bottles of wine at a couple of restauraunt chains and I take a wine bottle re usable top so I can bring home what we don't drink as 1 of us needs to drive and the other would get a bit tipsy drinking most of a bottle!there have never been any comments from the restauraunts.....guess its my idea of a doggy bag
....a doggy bottle!

Haha. Don't suppose you do the same with your pizza (not putting it in a bottle of course)? I wrap what I can't eat in a napkin and have it for my lunch the following day.0

OMG What a fabulous thread. really enjoying reading through it but haven't quite managed all of it yet.
Been out again fruit picking and was dead excited to find damsons. I've actually been to the library today with dd and botrrowed 4 books on wild herbs, nature fruit etc.... watch Out ...and of course it was free..... DD is really into it!0 -
I want to get some Bicarbonate of soda to do some of the things mentioned in the thread but I can only find pathetic little tubs in the bakery aisles and also can't find any white vinegar. Pray tell where I can get some in Bertie Big Bo**ucks sized containers as I have plenty in mind!0

I think I saw someone mention that they got some in Boots?
I get mine from soapmaking suppliers, but they use courier delivery which adds about £6 to the cost. Not really a problem if I'm buying oils and things for my soaps etc at the same time.0 -
A couple of other bits of things that I do without thinking. My DD is 9 years old and quite likes walking with our 2 Border Terriers but sometimes she says that her legs hurt and can't be bothered so I play a game with her to keep her going so she doesn't think about her wlking .'Who is the first to find something' while we are walking. We've found money, pens, balls, jewellery etc. Everybodies happy!!!!!
I love Jumble Sales and much prefer them to Car Boots. You can get plenty of bargains from 10p upwards. I have had lovely Per Una Tops and skirts, laundered them worn them for a while and when I have got fed up with them or more truthfully put weight on so they don't fit anymore I have taken them to the dress agency where they sell them for you and take 50% approx. Eg. Bought a top for 10p at jumble sale - Took it to dress agency where she sells for £4.99 - once sold I get £2.50.....Ker...ching!!!!0 -

Big bottles of vinegar - 5 litres - can be found in Makro, and also in places like Asian grocery stores.0 -

We too have transferred hair shampoo to a hand pump and it's amazing how much less you use. Upending a full bottle of shampoo seems to result in half the contents ending up in your hands or on your head. The same thing applies with tomato ketchup. (When first you shake the ketchup bottle, first none will come and then the lot'll !)My supply of little notepaper pieces in their 3" cubed block container is now running low so I'm now cutting up all the envelopes which arrive through the post into 3" x 3" pieces to replenish my supply. It's a nice relaxing occupation to do while I'm listening to the radio or watching TV and they would otherwise go into our paper recycling bin.
Has anyone mentioned Pigsback yet? (I've only got to p.63) I use it when I buy off Ebay and occasionally if I splash out and buy from other companies that they have on their, and I love building up points and getting my vouchers! You can also click on adverts and get points for doing that. I also do surveys for Toluna which is good - I go on everyday and do the sponsored polls too and build up tons of points doing that."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
