Sneaky ways to save the pennies

You could have turned some of them into shopping bags....here's how
Cut off the sleeves or just use the vest type T shirts
sew the front and back of t shirt together, across the bottom
Cut round the neck to make a bigger opening to put your shopping in
The shoulder seams become the handles"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Guess you plant the pips for MS lemons next year!!! I like to use own label as much as possible - cleaning products, flour, etc. There isn't much that I won't compromise on - unless it comes to our March Out clean when everything has to be spotless - then I do splash out to get branded items.
I recycle christmas presents - but this year I'm thinking of asking people for certain presents. I think that I'll give my Mum a list of what I want so family can liase with her which means I'll still get a surprise. I only want things like a decent apron.
The Christmas and birthday present which I most want is unobtainable - 26hrs in a day! Talking of which I'd better start having a look at my Christmas present box to see what I can give to which family member!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

I think it meant that if you hold a vest top by putting your hands through the arm holes they become handles and you put your stuff in where the neck hole is, the shape of a vest top and the shape of a carrier bag are fairly similar, you just need to sew across the bottom of itGod is good, all the time

Thanks Sian, you are a star. I was being very thick! In my defense tho, I'd had 2 really bad nights sleep and had a stinking headache today so wasn't really thinking clearly! LOL!
I have an old tshirt that I absolutely love but can't fit into any more so making it into a shopping bag would be fab! And might even look for cheapy but pretty t shirts on ebay or something and make them into bags - they would make great presents too!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

I'm not sure if I read it on this particular thread but definitely somewhere on here! I've noticed how tins of CHOPPED toms are now a few more pennies than just the plum, so I take the lid completely off & use a long bladed knife to hack the little blighters into bits
An awful lot easier than trying to do it any other way IMO as there seems to be less mess & what there is, stays in the can.
