So instead of 1 bag per cup each time, its 2 bags in the pot for the 4 cups. Am also considering switching to loose tea and using a strainer each time. The used leaves can go in the compost too.

if you grow beans try borlotti next year, they are useful in 3 ways,
1/ eat pods whole early season
2/when pods grow fat and turn red eat podded beans fresh
3/at the end of the seasom when pods go papery and brown shell them and use beans as dried beans in casseroles
they are also very pretty with the pods going from mottled green to red and beans vary from pale green to red with white spots0 -

Great Idea! Ive just got some fresh herbs for a beef stew and was wondering how long they would last.
Will ice them up tomorrow - - thank you

Swap facial wipes for baby wipes, they remove make up and are cheeper.
Old birthday/ Christmas cards. Cut off the picture side and re use as a postcard/thank you note.
Use card from food boxes to make a shopping list.
Text people instead of using the phone.
Use old clothes for patchwork covers.
When a quilt cover gets old or you are just wanting a replacement cut it open and you will be surprised at what a large piece of marerial can be used for? picknics (to sit on), a table cloth, play tent, floor covering when decorating... the list could go on ....If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

I have excema on my scalp and the doctor prescribed T-gel shampoo. This ranges from £5 to £8 per bottle in the shops (depending where you go). I get 4 bottles per month on prescription (plus the pills I am on).
As I have to pay for each item on a prescription I buy a pre-paid certificate for 3 months (less that £30) and use it to get my prescriptions 4 times during that 3 month period. First on day one of the certificate, second on day 25, third on day 55 and then fourth on day 80. (If I juggle it right I can sometimes get a 5th use out of it). I then wait a month until I nearly run out before buying another 3 month pre-paid certificate and doing it all over again.
This saves me a hell of a lot of money on perscrition items (4 X £8 on T-gel alone) and means I dont have to worry about having the cash in my purse if I need any extra medicines.

Talking of prescriptions reminds me.
When DS2 was a baby I was breastfeeding him, but wanted to feed him baby milk if I needed to go out. All of the milks I tried made him throw up until I tried the soya baby milk.
When I mentioned it to my doctor, he told me that I could get that on prescription due to my sons apparent allergic reaction to normal formula milk.0 -

I saw on a TV programme that soaking your feet for 10/15 minutes in cheap mouthwash each night will clear up atheletes foot in 4/5 weeks.
Havent tried it myself - but if its true it will save a lot of money on these small tubes of cream that you have to use continuously for 12 months!
perhaps someone here knows if this is fact or fiction?

I've been using Wilkinsons own brand make up remover wipes 99p each but usually on BOGOF and they are excellent, even take off waterproof mascara without dragging.
I do the text thing too, I'm far to mean to ring mobile numbers!!:p0 -

I used to do that too. But recently I bought some facial wipes from Mr T that are Vitamin E suitable for all skin types (25) these were 24p!!
They are really lovely and take off all your makeup.0
