hi, im always having a look on this forum and site but have only just registered, great thread, some things i do that i can think of...
#using fragrence free baby wipes instead of face wipes, u usually get about 25 wipes per face wipe pack and at around 72 in baby wipes, plus i buy them for my son so works out well.
#i wash my face with my face wash and add table salt(19p) to turn it in to a scrub, works excellent better than anything i have tryed,
#i dont use water in my iron,(goes to fast) i fill a old spray bottle with water and spray a bit on my clothes before ironing,as there no risk of steaming yrself or water bubbling out of the iron making marks on the clothes
#this may sound srange but i buy small cartons of ready made baby milk and just keep them in the cubbord, use them for cups of tea or coffee when we run out of milk , when going out, etc even if you want yr own milk at work, serves well for a day and no wastage
#i keep 2litre bottles , then fill them with squash, orange, blackcurrent etc, so i can mesure out the squash then add the water and it is always already cold when it comes to being used (keep in fridge), so u know its not being wasted,
#buy a cheap lemonade or fizzy water to add to squash for fizzy drinks,
#ive used washing up liquid in the washing mashine b4 now when ive ran out of powder, cleans well but you must use a very very small amount or you will have bubbles every where
#a small bottle of pure vit e oil for the eye area, used every night this lasts 4ages and results r great,
#if you have very frizzy hair, on your last rinse rub baby oil on th ends of your hair, dont put any on your scalp, (to greasy looking) then lightly rinse and dry, the hair will be much easyer to manage with out using loads of expensive hair products,(you can buy large bottles of baby oil for under a pound)
#for a filling .... cook some pasta,
when cooked and drained add ground black pepper,
a bit of a cheap pasta sause, (somerfield do a jar for 39p)
then,, this is the good bit, buy some moderatly cheap burgers, cook the burgers,i usually do about 2 then put them on some kitchen paper (soak up any oil) and chop them in to small balls of meat, like minced meat, and add to the pasta,
mix up and serve, its lovely and you get a meal with meat but still have enogh meat for future dishes (a pack of burgers is usually 6)
# a quick cooked breakfast for hubby..
scrambled egg, cheap tin of baked beans and sausage, sprincling of grownd black pepper and a bit of curry powder, (optional but lovely)
all mixed
then 2 sliced of toast, done, tasty breakfast or snack
these are what i can think of at the moment, im sure i have some more...0 -
oh yes also, for a easy evening meal, that looks like it took you ages,..
get yr meat (chicken, pork chops, lamb chops etc small cuts not a whole lamb leg or whole chicken lol), and season it for at least an hour or over night if possible..
then... get your meat put it in a large bowl, add chopped onion carrotts, sweetcorn whole mushrooms, some chopped tinned tomatoes with juice, you like mix it all to gether, then stick it all in the middle of a sheet of foil on a baking tray, add a few gravy granules and a bit of water, then wrap it all up in the foil (like a little parcel) and stick it in the oven , this wont take long to cook, and is very filling, add or take away whatever you like,
and serve with mash or rice or whatever takes yr fancy0 -
frugallily wrote: »Thanks, Lesley and Emilyt. I agree about the recipe book but mine never turn out like pictures anyway!! And the link is just what I meant. Did you know that there is an "ammonia" stardrops?
It seems to me that buying all the different "flavours" of Stardrops defeats the object of having one cleaner that somehow manages to clean absolutely everythingI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I have a pre-payment prescription certificate, if you have lots of prescriptions to get a month, then it's really worth getting one! I'm definitely going to be in profit this year! It's worth getting one if you have to get more than four items in 3 monthss

I buy almost everything (non food/grocery) on ebay, esp clothes, beauty products and gifts. Its amazing what you can get on there so much more cheaply, esp if you like your labels. For example I got a new Shu Uemera mascara for £1.79 (inc postage) a lot cheaper than even the cheapy makeup brands.
Even if you're a bit squeamish about second hand clothes (I'm not but know some people are a bit funny about this, can't understand it myself, everything you buy in the shops has prob been tryed on) you can get so many things BNWT (brand new with tags) current store stock for at least half the price.
I used to get my clothes in asda and primark but can now afford Topshop (which I'm addicted to) for less than I was spending before, plus you save petrol. Now, if I do go to the shops I just try stuff on and then search for it on ebay, hardly ever have to wait more than a week for it to appear.
Its great for gifts too, I got my (expensive) sister a Kate Moss at Topshop dress (2 years old but suited her down to the ground and brand new condition) for a tenner (RRP £60) and she was thrilled and thought I was being extraordinarily generous! xxStarted Comping 25th September 2013.
October wins :j : Chapstick Goodie Bag, Mixed Case of Kumala Wine, £10 Two Seasons Gift Voucher, Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate bar, Schwarzkopf Colour Mask, Eco Soap Sample Bundle.
November wins: Cheerios 6 pack, MUA Primer0 -
If buying on ebay, register with Quidco and go via their cashback site when you go to pay.
It's 40% of the final value fees, so not a great deal, but better than nothing.0 -
