I love Febreze but i don't buy it unless it is on offer anymore as it is pricy but inbetween i fill up the empty spray bottle with water and fabric conditioner(i have found the lilac lenor best) i use it to freshen curtains, carpets clothes and as an ironing spray.
Also freshens the dogs bed and is as strong a solution as i want it to be.
I also rub a little lenor on the radiators when they are on to freshen the house:T0 -
Ive heard that about charity shops before, you think that what you take goes to the chairty but they are so regulated what they can and cant sell they have to be careful, but surely if even one piece gets sold its worth it?:A :j0

Washed my clothes today with only one tablet (recommended to use two) and half the conditioner and my clothes came out fine - they even seemed softer than usual! Also, watered down my shampoo and conditioner - shampoo went a bit too runny but just tipped it upside down on my head instead of into my hand. Hair feels fine, lovely and smooth!
My handwash is also watered down, and although very watery you still get a really good lather!
Thanks so much for the tips!May Wins: 2 x Beauty Brilliance Multipurpose Highlighter Sticks in pink and gold, Cellulite buster cream, Garnier eye roll-on stuff and James Brown Hair Mask.

Until recently I was the manager of a charity shop. (Stopped due to ill health). Although they do have ever stricter rules as to what they can sell in the shops, they actually sell the rest to the "Rag Man" for a price per Kilo. So they still get money for them.
These are then used by the "Rag trade" further down the line, and are sorted etc, and certain fabrics can then be recycled into other things.
Just wanted to let you know that if you donate to charity you are still doing a wonderful thing. Also if you GiftAid, they can claim back between 25p and 28p in the pound, for what they sell! This is offset from your tax payments.
You dont have to pay anything, it just generates from the "Tax Man".When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
There are lots of charity shops where we live and I've found that some of them are inclned to be a little 'snooty'. I tend to give my stuff to the local hospice charity shop (there should be one in most towns I imagine) and they are always grateful. As someone else said, they sell any they don't want, to the rag-man, thus they still make money on them.
I couldn't bear to bin or burn anything a charity shop might be glad of.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

if its just the foaming bottle you are after, I bought a cheapish (think £1+) facial foaming wash from either Aldi or Lidl and have been using that to dispense handwash in my kitchen since the face wash was used up. the facial wash was pretty good too0 -
My OH and i both use head and shoulders but found it was gettin quite pricey with OH washin his hair every day and me every other! Saw in Mr T's they do their own brand of anti-dandruff shampoo so i have been refilling the £4.50 bottles with £1.40 of own brand shampoo. OH is non the wiser and i have more ££ to spend on food!0

That is a brilliant idea :Ti buy whole milk and when nobody is looking the milk gets a good glug of water from the tap to eek it out a little further. neither my son or my oh have twigged that i do this yet, i reckon this has saved me a small fortune over the years because both of them eat huge bowls of cereal everyday and sometimes they eat 2 bowls each, i certainly notice the difference doing my shopping monthly as i don`t buy nearly as much milk as i used to :j1vs 100 £505500/335.25 (5.5K COMING DOWN)20.00/10,000(10K GOING UP)Not long now0
