hi maverick33, i can understand where you are coming from. I have tablets that help me sleep but only for a few hours. I lie in bed for hours just thinking which i hate.I have no motivation to do anything.
I to loose my concentration after 10-15mins.Its horrible as I get distracted by thinking. Its more awful for me when someone is talking to me, I cant take it all in, I can listen for a while and then i dont hear them, its not delibarete, just my mind wondering off thinking, I suppose thats why i dont have any friends but had my friends been friends in the first place they would of been supportive and understanding and not walked away from me.Id never do that to a friend.
geminilady, why are you still awake hun?
Ive just seen cheryl cole from girls aloud singing a song with a guy, she is so pretty. I wish I was pretty, i wish i had nice clothes and a nice home. I know thats not everything in life but I feel like such a minger,so ugly and spotty.0 -

So it isn't just me then, it was getting to the stage where i thought i was the only one and no-one else does this as it's not normal etc etc..
I'm not too bad when talking face to face with people - but saying that, that doesn't happen very often anyway just GP appts & medicals etc.. When watching TV or a movie i kinda glaze over after 20mins - watching a series has become a nightmare as by the end of a show i've forgotten what happened at the start of it..
And i totally get what you mean about friends - any that i had i don't think knew what i was going through and left me too being a recluse.. I think they just thought i was being a miserable git for not wanting to go out etc.. That was 3 years ago & not heard from any of them since..What came first, the music or the misery? Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?0 -

Hi Diamond as i said in a previous post i don't have trouble sleeping although i do when my depression is bad.I am naturaly a night owl and never go to bed before midnight but i am going in a minute.Glad you had a lovely weekend with you son.Lack of friends seems to be a problem a lot of us have but at least on here we can chat to people with the same problem.I to have had a few internet dates but not for the last year or so,like you i used to fall for guys pretty quickly but it did not happen the last couple of times.I am however pretty keen on a guy i have only met twice but we only text these days .He is a friend of sorts though and all i have at the moment.0 -

I’m new to this thread, but I’d like to give some reassurance and encouragement to those that feel life never changes.
As time goes by, I’ll post more personal details about my situation and history, bur for now I just want to say life does get better, there is ALWAYS a solution to every situation, it a question of finding it.
I’ve suffered from psychiatric / psychological issues for over 30 years, moved from Dr to Dr, psychiatrist to psychiatrist, taken all kinds of anti depressants, regardless of which professional I spoke to I always felt no one understood my problems or even cared.
I changed GP again, this was a regular occurrence for me, however, this particular GP did take an interest in me, over a period of time we built a really good Dr – patient relationship, it was agreed by my GP I should be referred for psychotherapy, I eventually was allocated a psychotherapist and we hit it off from the start.
My counselling lased 6 years, sometimes the sessions were very painful, however, I came through it, so much so, I have been discharged now for over 2 years, I’ve never enjoyed life so much as I do now, yes, I have my off days, but they are few and far between, I take regular anti depressants on a daily basis, my GP has informed me I’ll be on these for the rest of my life, just like a diabetic has to take insulin forever, or a heart patient having to take BP tablets for ever, I’s no different with anti depressant, I’m not bothered if I have to take medication forever, it keeps me on a level playing field.
Anti depressants are like any other medication, it can take years to find the “right” one, it took me over 25 years to find the right one, I’ve been on the same medication now for over 6 years, and I know this is the right one for me.
I trust I have given someone some hope to continue to believe life does change, I’m proof it does.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
