I'm really trying to ask a new question, not reply to one, but not sure if this is the right way, sorry!
I need - quickly - an inexpensive unlocked phone to use with a world SIM card, SIM4travel. Last weekend I found the Nokia 2310 in the O2 shop for £39.99 but the guy wasn't sure if it was already unlocked, or could be. The Carphone Warehouse said their Nokia 2310 - £34.99 -was already unlocked, but I can't get my money back, only exchange, if this turns out to be wrong advice.
Can anyone help? I know there's a bit about the 2310 in the list at the start of the forum, but I found it a bit ambiguous.
Apologies again if this post is in the wromg place - I couldn't find a button saying "New post", only "reply".

cpw phones are usually unlocked - check the box for any branding if if you buy it on orange/voda etc they brand their boxes, but if cpw have supplied it on voda/ornage and it is unbranded then it almost certain to be unlocked (sim free)

Thanks for that. I don't care what network it's on, so maybe that'll be OK. There's £10 worth of call time included on the price. I think it may be on O2 (from the cpw). The guy was adamant that it was already unlocked, but I can't afford to take his word for it!

  • I have downloaded the P2K Easy Tool Motorola unlocking software and purchased a Motorola USB cable.

I then successfully unlocked a Motorola V545 from Orange, but for some reason can do do the same to a Motorola V500, Although the software says that the phone is unlocked - it is not. It just keeps asking for the Subsidy Password. I've tried version 37,39 and 41 of the software - all to no avail.

I would be really grateful for any ideas.

Hi , have found a code online to unlock this mobile ( samsung E900 ), which it does and works fine, but when the phone is switched off and then back on it reverts back to the tesco sim, and says invalid sim if i had already put my orange sim in.

The code i used makes a new menu appear with an option called maloc fail which the poster says to choose, it then unlocks but appears noy to be permanent

Also had the same issue, does not appear to be a permanent solution, maybe the only certain way is to take it to the market and for £10 they'll do it with the clip/cable thingy?

Can anyone confirm they've had a permanent unlock solution to this handset?
