I've been using BalmBalm, it's wonderful stuff, I've got really sensitive skin but this stuff doesn't make me tingle, go red or anything. The best thing is you can use it anywhere, face, hands, feet, lips etc. it's very versatile. I got a little pot from superdrug for £3 to try but bought a big pot for £6 online yesterday. The rose geranium fragrance one is lovely but they also do tea-tree or unscented.

I'm going into town today to the Beauty Salon, and I'm going to have a luxury manicure, which takes about an hour and a half. Really looking forward to it, hopefully my hands will look beautiful this afternoon0 -

At the moment, I'm using Eucerin Q10 for sensitive skin. It's yellowy and thick, reminds me of butter. Wish it were cheaper though. My skin seems to love it. No redness or slight burning after putting it on like I get with everything else
I use the cream at night (just their normal day version 'cos it was all I could get) and the 'fluid' in the morning. So far so good... still on the hunt for a cheaper alternative though.
I tried Lidl's iseree (the sensitive one) - it's not bad - a slight tingle, but nothing major... but it doesn't really feel like it's moisturising me much
I have had the same experience with Boots Sensitive - my skin really, really didn't like the wash (went red and blotchy) and then moisturiser afterwards (same effect). Plus tingle etc.
Eucerin Q10 is one I want to try... although sorely tempted by Clarins Multi Active Day cream for dry and sensitive skin, so expensive though...
I haven't yet tried the Lidl one, but did try the Aldi one (Serena? or similar...), not sure about it for now as this morning I have a sort-of-under-the-skin lump on my chin and some blotchyness which I think is because of that cream. Or could be the Boots Protect and Perfect serum I put on on Tuesday. What a minefield!MFW #185

I really would recommend Eucerin, but I also want to try Aveeno Ultra Calming Lotion too because of the SPF (although I don't know who I'm kidding as SPF15 isn't anywhere near high enough for my see-thru skin) ... don't think you can get the aveeno one in the UK yet though
My skin won't tolerate Protect & Perfect either... and I've become sensitive to No7 Essential Moisture Night Cream (used to be called Amazingly Rich Night Cream) - Gutted about that, 'cos I bought 4 tubs of it as dryness wise - it's amazing... but I've started get that mild burning sensation and redness which I hate.
How are you with foundations/tinted moisturisers? Or don't you use them? So far, I seem to be fine (irritation wise) although most dry me out and leave me flakey by lunchtime. Really looking for a nice sheer tinted moisturiser for the summer - but I doubt I'll find one.
It's funny 'cos I'm always reading moans on forums/beauty blogs etc about how such and such a product makes people too oily or causes their makeup to slide.... I always read that and think - right, that's the one for me then! :rotfl:
As for washing/cleansing... I haven't found anything that doesn't leave me with skin tighter than a drum within 2 minutes of patting my face dry. I always make a dash for my moisturiser.
At the moment though, I'm sticking with DHC, 'cos I'm seeing such an improvement in skin tone even-ness and I'm willing to sacrifice a little moisture for that! Plus it's not causing any irritation.
Sorry for the essay!don't blow out other people's candles to make your own burn brighter...0 -

Hmm will have to try Eucerin then - have a sample still at home. I think maybe the Boots products have something in them that isn't great for sensitive skin - as the Protect and Perfect seems to upset mine. Very annoyed as I bought one of their massive bottles of the stuff at Xmas for £50 ('reduced from £100')! That will teach me to get caught up in marketing...
What is DHC then? Do see if you can try the Clarins gentle wash for dry/sensitive skin as it's very gentle and I feel much less tightness... you can get a sample from Boots/Debenhams...MFW #185

DHC - http://www.dhcuk.co.uk/defaults/index.do
They're on here somewhere on the freebies forum too... 'cos if you sign up they'll send you 4 samples.
I use the deep cleansing oil for getting my make up off - I much prefer it to my own concoction of olive/castor/almond despite the price - because this stuff emulsifies so easily with water. The other thing I use is their Mild Soap...I don't buy it though, I just use the little samples, which last an age.
One last thing I use is their sunblock which has all the old fashioned ingredients in (zinc oxide based) - it's VERY thick as well so I mix a bit in with my moisturiser and it lasts well.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the recommendation on the Clarins (is it the foaming cleanser?), I'm gonna go and wince at the price then beg in Debenhams for a sampledon't blow out other people's candles to make your own burn brighter...0 -
Hi Sugarspunsister - thanks for the link will get some samples... the Clarins cleanser is the gentle one for dry and sensitive skin and is a cream (doesn't froth much), leaves your skin very soft and can be rinsed off (or removed with cotton wool I guess). I prefer the water as it feels cleaner, but I think I will only do that in summer as in winter my skin prefers as little water as poss. Plus I bought muslin sheets on ebay (£6 for 12 huge sheets, usually used for babies) and I cut each sheet into 4 = 48 cleansing wash cloths at a fraction of what Liz Earle charge... it's all muslin at the end of the day! xMFW #185

Hi all, just to report that I have now been using Aldi's Siana Day Cream for around 4 weeks now - no noticeable flareups or anything so far! The only thing I find is I'd love for the cream to be a tiny bit thicker, but at £1.89, I can hardly complain!
On How to Look Good Naked, the Siana Night cream tied in first position with an Estee Lauder one, 20 times more expensive!MFW #185

Sorry to bump this thread after so long but I'd like some sensitive skin help please. In the summer, I won a tube of Avene skin recovery cream in a competition and I was pleased to find it was kind to my skin (so few other products are
).
http://www.garden.co.uk/php/showProducts.php?plu=0604155
I've made the tiny 40ml tube last as long as I could but now I'm cringing at having to pay £12 for another tube. Before I go ahead and buy it, does anyone know of any cheaper face creams with similar (few) ingredients? (I've had a look online for the ingredients list and can't find it at the moment; I'll update this post when I do. Edit: ingredients - Avène thermal spring water 67%, white petroleum jelly, polyols, plant squalane. Fragrance-free and paraben-free.) Or does anyone know of anywhere that sells this cream at a bargain price?
Thanks in advance for any help.0
