  • I'm glad a thread like this exists as my local RC/C of E High School are looking for Invigilators at the moment [according to the school newsletter I picked up today from my local RC church] and I'll definitely be applying as the money is good [£7.16 per hour] plus the experience from the job will be handy for my CV...
  • Where can we find out what the general exam regulations are? Many thanks.

Take a look at jcq website. These rules cover a few boards.

That's great, thank you. I've saved the PDF for future reference.

I've bumped this thread as it's getting near to the time when schools and colleges will be looking for summer invigilators. It can take a few weeks to sort as you need to do a CRB check - some schools insist on their own even if you have one already (I had 3!!)
    It's worth a look.

Thanks for the bump moneypooh! I just wanted to add that if you are interested for this summer, you need to be very quick - not only because of the CRB check, possible interview, training, etc. but the invigilator timetabling is usually done around Easter.....

You can apply to be an invigilator at any time of year - there are exams in November, January, March, May and June as well as bits and pieces outside of those main times.

I would be interested in this but I'm not sure where to look. My daughter is only in the infants, should i just ring up some local secondary schools?

Yes, phone the school and ask to speak to the Exams Officer.

  • I emailed about 6 exam officers got taken on by 3 of them, so well worth a try.

Were they all schools? I only ask because, if so, they will have exams on at the same time as each other - will you be making yourself available to them on different days of the week?
