    Evening again everyone

Went to the farm shop and bought half a sack of potatoes, (£3.50) a very large happy chicken and vegetables for Sunday roast. (Cooking a meal for M&D who've been away on holiday for 4 weeks). Total came to £19 including some sweets for DS who had been really good and been to school for a days SATS revision in the holidays bless him!:D

I sat down this afternoon and rewrote the menu plan up to the end of the month. Will need to do a big shop at mrT and visit the butchers on the weekend but it would be good if that would last to the 30th. I'm going to be using a few new recipes that I've found on this thread so quite looking forward to trying out some new meals on the family.
Our poor cat George cost us nearly £50 at the vets last night! He was off his food and in a really bad mood. Turns out he had an ear infection and has burst his eardrum. No wonder he was feeling so lousy. Now it's fun and games getting the tablets down him!

Anyway I will sign off now. Happy saving everyone.

Spent €2.09 to-day on liver (3 slices!) to go with the last of the Lidl bacon mis-shapes for dinner, cooked with lots of onions, broccoli and mash. Brings my total spend so far to €246.87.

Got 4 vouchers for €8 each of a €50 spend in our local Tesco...one for each of next 4 weeks...problem is that I only have €53 odd to last until end of the week so would be leaving myself fairly short spend €42 this week...could be done though now that I think about it, if I shopped carefully this weekend I might get through until 30th with just buying milk and fresh fruit and veg.....thought that I had a Tesco voucher for a euro or two but can't find it...botheration!

Good buying ( or not) to all

Okay have not been posting as I have a confesion...........

I have failed miserably at my challange going over budget by *coughs* £20 at least  and there are ten days of my challange left

BUT will be joining again next month so wish me luck. I am convinced better planning is the key. I wrote a months menu but struggled to stick to it . Hopefully though I have learned what will and won't work for me next month (big sigh). I think need to be more flexible with menus and my changing shift patterns

Off to fetch some fruit and yoghurts in a minute...
Then im braving the freezers...going to do a re-jig and make a bit of space and check that my lists are up to date as spured on by mrDT..think thats right :p ..Next month i am doing a "freezer challenge" and the main part of the meals MUST come from the freezer:rotfl: ...so will sit today and work out a menu..
I know there is loads in there, and i would like to get it run down before full scale salad weather kicks in...plus it will free up some space for when all my veggies start fruiting (fingers crosed):p .... I have to confess to having 85 packets of veggie seeds :o no wonder the house is starting to look like a garden centre :rotfl:

Right best get off...oohh and totally unrelated but i lost 2.5lbs this week -so have shifted 6st 0.5lbs so far :j only 4st 3.5lbs to go :rotfl:

Morning, doing really well this month. Waaaay under budget so far and freezer still looking pretty healthy. I have however just put in a massive Mr T's order to try and beat these price rises:eek: Their breadflour is still 48p so i have ordered a few. Most of this order should do me through May too though:D And i used a £10 voucher on my £50 spend:beer:

    Morning all

Well at last it's Friday - it's been a long hard week at w**k but DH has been paid on time for the first week of his current temp job so that's a bonus.

There are lots of goings on at my w**k - I have yet to get any news about my redeployment prospects so my stress levels are a bit high:eek: I see to spend my days with a permenant stomach ache or headache.

The challenge is going quite well but it is going to get a bit tight next week as this is a 5 week one for me. Still yesterday was an NSD for me and today could well be one too. Will have to go to Lidl tomorrow for the usual fizzy supply for DS and hope they stioll have the bread flour at 48p. I nearly went earlier in the week but it would have ment a special trip and in a idle moment actually calculated the petrol costs would have ment I would have had to have bought more bags than they could have fit on the shelf:eek:

No point in making the trip then!

Well off to the grindstone in a few minutes - must get DS out of bed before I leave:rotfl: :rotfl:

By the way Wilkinsons often have pom bears in.
