£23.28 spent for me this week. As my general spending has dropped a bit, I treated myself to a couple of organic lamb chops this week.

    Hi all

Haven't posted in a while as I realised I was going to overspend - again - this month!! But, instead of giving up entirely like last month, I am keeping track of my spends & still trying as much as possible to keep it a reasonable overspend IYSWIM! I blame it on DD wanting expensive items that I hadn't budgeted for - like stir fries every day...Anyhow, went to MrTs yesterday & bought the things I went for - plus some bread flour - go home to make vege chilli with Quorn only to find we only have one measly halfbag in the freezer. Could use meat mince - of which we have loads - but then DD won't eat it! In the end bulked it out with extra beans & chopped manky-looking 1/2 a courgette.....it was very nice but none left for another meal as intended.

Ah well, tonight is HM pizza with HM coleslaw (thanks MrsM) followed by Impossible Coconut Pie made with 11p bags of coconut from Asda. never made it before so I'll see what it's like.

Made some really nice HM summer fruit jam with various bags of berries from the freezer - turned out lovely & now DD is complaining it is TOO nice, apparently if it was awful, she wouldn't eat loads of it....off to update signature of shame............................
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear
  • So I've already gone over!! Arghhh! And I still need to buy some fruit and veg for next week.
I'm not too concerned as this was my first challenge, I'll do it for £65 next month and see how I get with that.

    Mornin' all! TGI Friday ...

Had my weekly date with mrT last night, spent £17.33 inc £5.86 cat food. Again, there didn't seem to be much in my trolley for the money. I'm finding this challenge brilliant - really makes me think about what I'm putting in the trolley.

Am sticking to this month's meal plan - I don't find that too hard 'cos if I'm not organised then I don't eat (it's usually around 8pm when I get home), and next month's plan is forming. A friend of mine thinks it's very sad that I havae a list of everything that's in my freezer, down to the last scone ...

MrsM, many congratulations on the continued weightloss :T

    Off to update siggy ...

Well, have decided I need to do a shop today. As tomorrow's viewing has been moved to late this pm, I will go then.

We had the remainder of the beef stew, complete with bubble and squeak made from potatoes and cabbage left from Sunday.

None was left so it went down well enough!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Had an ASDA delivery last night, I was really careful to add it all up as I was going along but I obviously made a mistake somewhere as I was aiming for £45 and I spent £47.78!

So over budget this week ~:(

Off to work out what I have left for month....

*edit £22.20 left until 1st May!! I think I am going to go over this month!

I'm off to MrT today, probably get some bread flour just in case Lidl's has been ransacked by you lot before tomorrow:p I think I'll need yeast too before very soon.

Unfortunately, my local-ish discount store is just that...don't think there's any more:rolleyes: but I'll ask next time I go....it's called The Trading Post & sells absolutely anyone's stuff. Saw some Waitrose labels in there & M&S:D & it's one of these places that does 59pea or 2-4-£1 type prices. The sugar is 59p kilo, or 39p if you spend over £20 & limited to 3 bags per customer. Have to say that now I've stopped buying crisps[McCoys 6+3free £1:eek: ] & biscuits[Hobnobs 2-4-£1:o ] I do have to choose wisely to get over the twenty quid. Got 3 pks of Butoni Spagetti for a quid last time too but you can't guarentee what will be there next time IYSWIM.

Can't remember seeing it before, but I'm having a few 'senior' moments lately;) , so would it be possible for a recipe for the Impossible Coconut Pie please Sashanut? I used to make Maidens Tarts & wondered if it was similar, so perhaps I'll go look for that one again too cuz you've got my taste-buds tingling now:mad: :rotfl: :rotfl: Please don't tell the Weight Loss threads I just said that:o :rotfl:
