Wow MrDT, thanks quite a haul you swagged for yourself
Well done you :T . If something like that ever happened to me I bet I'd have no room in the freezer to put it in  .
Just adding £3.15 onto my sig. I nipped into Aldi to get apples, mango and cucumber for 49p each and a few yogs.
I don't want to tempt fate but I'm quietly confident about staying within budget this month0 -

oh dear...a quick trip into Asda was all I needed....Bread, milk, Yoghurts and Tissues.
At least I remembered those bits! Also got some bread flour (I know it's 75p but Lidl and Aldi is the other side of town), a 4kg bag of rice, some butter, a bag of root veg reduced to 54p which is currently making soup, yeast and some other bits (including a t-shirt for my mum which I've taken off the total and a choccy bar which I'm sure doesn't count seeing as it never got past being in my car!!)

Took the kids to the local play farm today and they had cream, yoghurt, pies and cottage cheese on offer. Another £18.38 down. Still haven't found out how much DH spent the other day but I was happy with my haul!
I love the cream from there and DH used up the last tub last night.
It's really strong so you only need 1 tub when it recommends a pint and I just water it down a bit.
I had to cram it in the freezer and there's a possibility of going mackerel fishing tomorrow- where would I put the fish?

Hey peeps :hello:
Just popped on to update my sig (had to re-stock on salad stuff, cordial, coffee and yoghurts)... we're still in the black... just :j
I'm running out of ideas for what's left in the cupboards though, so whether I last to the end of the month remains to be seen. Will catch up on posts tomorrow and see if there's any recipes to inspire me...
Keep up the good work folks :T0 -

) then cook on low for about 6 hours

Evening everyone,
Had to buy milk, bread, marg and eggs today so have updated signature. Can't quite believe we still have so much money left in the budget but I think it's because we've been off school for two weeks. :j Back to work next week so we'll be having packed lunches again and probably using a lot more food.
Had macaroni cheese for tea. Earlier in the day I made a double batch of cheese sauce intending to use half for today's macaroni and to freeze the other cheese sauce for another meal. Unfortunately DH didn't realise and used the whole lot tonight! He has saved two small portions but really we could have had another meal out of it! Ooops.
Still don't need to do a big shop until Saturday or Sunday.

have still only spent £108 since the 22nd of last month for 3 of us! :j am managing by using up all the odds n sods/leftovers out of the freezer, still have plenty of frozen veg and tinned veg/fruit left so will continue to plough through that as long as poss.
ds has not been very well today (yesterday now) and hardly touched his dinner of stew runner beans and new pots so i took it into the kitchen and was about to give it to the dog (who had already been fed) i looked at nearlly a whole platefull of food disheartened at the waste and promptly scraped it into the slow cooker where i had a huge pot of veggie and lentil soup simmering...am i gross?
what do you guys do with half eaten food? my oh would be a bit funny if i told him and might not eat the soup  i think i`d best just keep shtumm :shhh: :A :rotfl:
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -
i wouldn't have thought of doing that, angchris. i would've just automatically shared it out between the dogs......or clingfilmed it, put it in the fridge and given it to DS the following night!!
but i can't see whats wrong with chucking it in your soup.....what the eye doesn't see and all that! :rotfl:0 -
morning peeps!
angchris, i'd have done the same, or stuck it in a tub to freeze for another day.
think i'll be spending a little today, am going to get some stardrops and need some flatbread for my curry night tonight and just haven't got time once i finish work to make that and the curry.
