Hi all
Girl least likely to - i made Applemellas beanburgers last week and we loved them i still have 4 in the freezer too.
Boredofbeingathome - the pork stroganoff sounds yummy, i`ll cut and paste that recipe too!
If anyone is making Weezle`s tomato dahl i can say this is lovely too, i did sub a tin of tomatoes for pasatta and a tin of baked beans as i didn`t have enough toms but its gorgeous. Thanks Weezle.

its just so much nicer than the mass-produced tasteless CR*P. there will still be some thing i will get from mr t altho costco/makro might be a better idea for loo roll, etc.
opinions people?
Hi,
I've been doing this for a while and find it's lots cheaper for fruit and veg and eggs (free range are are cheaper than Tescos value eggs at the grocers near me!!;) ). Meat is around the same but often has offers as you say. I would say the bakery is more expensive so I gave up on this mostly but bake a lot of stuff myself:D .
This month I ordered all non perishables for the month online and have not been to Tescos at all, so have not been tempted by the usual cr*p and have just been to the local shops. I think I need a wally trolley though as it's a b*gger to carry it all;)
Give it a go and see how you go.

DDs should have been in bed for hours but were upstairs on Mr T. watch with the lights off. Next thing you know the screaming banshees whoosh downstairs yelling "hes here hes here" flinging open the front door and releasing the hound. We live on a very very quiet country lane, a visit from anyone is v. exciting but when that anyone is bringing ice cream (value) well its like x-mas.
Poor driver couldn't help but laugh as they were unpacking the bagless shopping by yanking it out of the box and lobbing onto the floor to see what else they could find. Baked Bean (DD2) went disappearing off with a bag of bananas, DD1 attempted to stay up even later by offering to help put the shopping away.
Total spend £41.07.
Unfortunately they're up extremely early tomorrow as we have to be at school for 8:15am. Think they may be just a bit grumpy then.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hi everyone :hello:
I had my weekly MrT delivery tonight, it came to £84.83. I strugled to fit everything in! and now my cupboards are absolutely bursting with pasta, tinned tomatoes, passata, tuna, baking stuff, etc... I think they're fuller now than before doing the GC cos I keep stocking up:rolleyes: and I'm baking a lot more. I must start using everything up now though as it's a 5 week month and I've only got £60/week left. Must try harder to use stuff up and not buy too much!
We had chicken egg fried rice for tea tonight (made extra rice yesterday for a lazy tea tonight) which was very yummy
and we're gonna have bolognaise tomorrow. I've got some carrots, mushrooms, oats and lentils to bulk it out with so we'll see how much it makes. I usually stretch the mince to 2 big meals but with the extra bulking it should hopefully be enough for 3 or 4 meals
.
Getting-Sorted-Sarah there is a "Search this thread" facility if you look just below where the page numbers are. Saves time reading through loads of posts to find a recipe.;) Like you I like to have the recipes written out in a notepad aswell as using word cos I like to have them on paper when I'm in the kitchen. I use the front of my pad for savoury recipes and the back for sweet.(the back is filling up a lot quicker than the front though!:p )
Moo2Moo :rotfl: My DS (18months) gets really excited by the MrT delivery too and loves opening his curtains to watch! I expect when he's older he'll be running downstairs to go throught the bags too!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Ok...a kind of NSD for me today...although I had to "borrow" some eggs from my mum as I'd run out! It's my birthday tomorrow so instead of buying loads of boring doughnuts and spending lots of money I've made lemon drizzle traybake, fruity cookies and chocolate fridge cake...mmm! And all (apart from the eggs!) out of my cupboards!
Did I hear a rumour of a big jaffa cake recipe? I shall be hunting for that on here! Also, I'm sure you have one by now, but I bought a 2lb loaf tin in Debenhams (sounds posh but it was in the sale and one of those flexible ones)
Hello TheBees....My surname starts with 'B' if that qualifies me!!
Am trying to get back on the losing weight bandwagon. I lost 2 stone last year before my wedding but 1 stone of that has been creeping back on. Tomorrow is the new start!
Also, an update on the cottage pie with oats...my OH LOVED it! As expected he took the leftovers to work for lunch today which makes me glad that I could do an extra portion for the freezer! Tonight was HM carrot and ginger soup as I didn't get in from netball til 8.30! Yawn!Jonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

Glad bean burgers went down well!!
Had a HM pizza night last night. Made 3 HUGGGGE pizzas.Even with buying proper mozarella cheese and salami especially for them worked out to around £6.00 in total. At one time I would have spent around £20ish on equivalent take aways pizzas. They were so filling plenty left for lunch today as well!
Hm meatballs in tomato sauce and spaghetti tonight.
Spotted the italian theme??lol0 -
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday JennyBee!
DS has been deciding he wants dinners rather than sandwiches this week so with that and a quick shop at Asda yesterday, I've spent £24.25 in the last few days.
Right I'll go and update my sig.
Catch you later
