Hopefully some good news there.
I'd imagine hes renewed the thermal paste and reseated the heatsink and fan.0 -

I've got it back and using it now, hope it stays on thats all. Why do you think its come back with zone alarm removed and some of the settings a bit different such as when I click start its usualy straigfht up list but its gone back to the other square shaped?Thanx

If your using it now sounds like its fixed, just keep an eye on it for a while.
Not sure why the seettings have changed and zone alarm has gone, shouldnt of needed to alter anything if your just repairing the fan/heatsink.
Sounds like the windows theme has been changed and zone alarm has been removed.
Do an online scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ just to make sure nothing has been planted on your machine.0 -
I didnt see that last message and I'm installing zone alarm now. Should I run that housecall thing before I instal zone alarm then or can I do it when its installed?
The reason I didnt see the message straight away is because as I sent my last one a blue screen came up and said windows has to close so it then rebooted the computer.
The man who handed the pc over top my daughter was the nasty man from the shop. He said he didnt know what had been done to it so he couldnt tell her as the other man did it but it had been left on for 3 hours. Shouldnt they take note of whats been done when a job is carried out
Thanx

You can run the housecall either before or after installing zonealarm.
The guy is a total moron, what is a simple job has been totally cocked up by him.
You normally get blue screens?0 -
