    Ive been trying to swat up on river fishing...how do you get your float to stay in the same place or should I just use hand granades and drift nets :)

    i dont know thats the thing!

    I tried asking my front lawn but it just looked up and said - 'are you stupid? I'm grass, I cant talk'

    Which was quite odd I can tell you :)

    Depends on how strong the flow is. You can trot a float down the river, ie let it drift with the bait just touching bottom, or you can leger which is something like a heavy feeder (tube which you put bait in) which holds it fixed in one place and when the rod tip bends you dive in with a knife between your teeth. :)

    Depends on how strong the flow is. You can trot a float down the river, ie let it drift with the bait just touching bottom, or you can leger which is something like a heavy feeder (tube which you put bait in) which holds it fixed in one place and when the rod tip bends you dive in with a knife between your teeth. :)

    Yeah bingo! you mean all tarzan stylee? I'll have some of that.

    Thats proper fishing that is! I might fight a crocogator too... are there many of them in northern English rivers?

    You're not smoking the grass by any chance?

    If you are turfing the lawn, the amount of soil that comes with the turf varies but mine has been about an inch or so (the soil ok!). If you are using seed, just take the soil to the level that you want. A little too much top soil is usually easy to get rid off. Order too little and it gets annoying.

    No what I mean is I need to put topsoil down to lay the turn on but I cant find out how much depth of topsoil to put down?

  • How high do you want the lawn? Ten feet of topsoil and you will be able to watch the birds while you lay in bed.

    Like I said to the Mrs, a couple of inches is plenty.
