I would have thought that might have been obvious if you had read some of the other last few posts in this thread?
There is no need to be rude, I merely told of MY situation I didn't ask for anything as I already knew I would be ringing them and what I would be saying. I did that this morning they say they are refunding me which I only hope is true.0 -

Its good to hear that they are now refunding you. I just wasn't clear from your previous post that you realised that this was actually achievable.
Their scam is of course reliant on the fact that they only charge £10 per month as no one is going to spot this unless they go through their statement in detail. Although perhaps a cleverer con would use a more anonymous retailer name that sounded like it could just be an ordinary shop in some large city like London.
"Shopper Discounts & Rewards" seems almost like a deliberate form of taunting when their real name surely ought to be Shopper Surcharges & Punishments.:mad::mad::mad:0 -

Haha yes, one thing I don't quite get is why they have to refund you in £10 installments, why can't they just do it at once? I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid haha. I know for the futher refund, they're probably hoping you won't bother filling that out.
The guy I spoke to was a mixture of helpful and argumentative. He kept saying that I filled in my details (which I didn't) and that it was in "normal-sized print" that I was going to be charged. If it had been I would surely have seen it, I am usually very careful when it comes to clicking things. I honestly don't remember seeing anything of this at all but I know I did not knowingly give my details to anyone other than Ticketmaster.
He also said I had received several emails warning me of the first payment. To be honest I don't vigilently open every single email I get just in case someone is going to swipe money out of my account.
Another issue with Ticketmaster allowing them on their site is that sometimes you are rushing through the buying process because tickets for a particular show are in high demand. This makes you more vulnerable to this type of thing as you are acting quickly. I had even got up really early to do this as I knew tickets would sell out quickly which is, I think, how I fell fowl to this. I really should have been checking my statements though, there's no excuse for that.:embarasse0 -

I would like to say I always do but unfortunately online only card statements like Egg Money Mastercard make it easier to sometimes not ever properly check your statement
With an old fashioned paper statement it just came in an envelope that you could pull it out of but now the email from Egg saying a new statement is available cannot be safely acted on at the time if you get the email in somewhere like a web cafe etc that might be interested in nabbing your passwords (especially if you also use them for other online activities like banking).
From there its easy to find you have never checked the last statement. If the amount going through my bank account was stupidly high I would always spot that but using three different credit cards for different things its easy not to check them in detail unless the total amount demanded looks too high. And reading through bills of your historic spending is always just so depressing..............0 -
Im 99% sure that these are the ones behind the 'get £10 off your next pizza' on the pizza hut site..i ordered the other night on my card and get that afterwards on the confirmation page..i clicked it too, but i only use a pre-payment card online so im okShe has the loaded handbag of someone who camps out and seldom goes home, or who imagines life must be full of emergencies..0

Had the full amount taken by Shoppers Discount refunded by them without any trouble. But it makes you wonder how much money these people must be making from those who just don't notice it being taken from their account.0

I got caught via thetrainline.com. I threatened Shopper Discounts with complaining to thetrainline.com and Trading Standards and within minutes received an email cancelling my subscription and a statement that they would be refunding my membership fees within 10 days! I await the monies.0

I got caught by this last night on the M and M site. I cancelled it this morning. I just hope that that is the end of it.0

Well I have to report that I have received no such charges on my credit card statements which I used on ticketmaster.co.uk.
Have I been lucky or are people clicking on the £10 off offers and not actually reading what they are signing themselves up for?0 -
