Just noticed a £10 charge on my CC bill. Rang the number on my bill 0800 731 9935, they said they'll cancel my account and refund both charges (June charge just taken).

I must have been signed up when buying Peter Kay tickets recently.
  • I have noticed a £10 charge on my account, looking back at this they have taken £30 so far. I contacted them and said that they are scammers and misleading people. They said that they would refund me £10. I was not happy with this and said that 'you owe me £30'. they then said that I would get the money back in 10 working days. I have also contacted my fraud department at tesco who are looking into it. The charge came from buying Lady GaGa tickets from TICKETMASTER. Do not be fooled by them they know they are scammers and I told them as much. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi guys

I just realised they have been taking from me for the last 7 months too. They "got me" through the Trainline route. I just spoke to the customer service adviser who said that they will refund 3 months and said a claims form for the rest. . . I have to ask them for my OWN MONEY. @I have even paid overdraft charges where they have taken the money unexpectedly!

I told the adviser shame on her for working for them. Thieves.

Clearly your not looking at your finances enough. If you have sufferred overdraft charges, then why didn't you look to see what had put you over.

If you say it was only this month it sent you into overdraft charges, then you haven't looked that closely at your finances for at least 6 months as you've had seven payments before you noticed.

If you feel you haven't signed up for this then it is trainline you should complain to, because obviously you have either signed up for it or Trainline has signed you up without your permission.

In general all of you people who say you never signed up for this, then it is the companies who must have signed you up without your permission you should be angry with.

    Hi

I have been ill so hadn't paid close enough attention to my finances, and believe me, I am complaining both to the referring company and to Shopper Discounts. I signed up for a money off voucher and at no point was it made clear that money would be taken from my account.

Thanks for the "lecture" but not checking my bank account does not justify them helping themselves to my money.

I suspect you have a vested interest FOZMCFC

Ah sorry to hear you were ill. :(

No interest, but unless people are signing up for it or companies are passing customers card details to them, I don't see how they are getting hold of customers details.

So surely it is either 1/ Customer error or 2/ Company passing info unauthorised to them.
  • Thanks to Davedanger for this thread. I think it was Seetickets who signed me up but I can't quite remember; it was seven months ago, and I've just discovered I was paying £10 a month since then! I followed the instructions above and got a cancellation, the automated phone voice mentioned nothing about refunds so I stayed on and talked to an operator and asked for a refund. She was perfectly decent about it and offered a refund without any trouble; I'm apparently being sent 3 x £10 by transfer, and I have to print and return a form and send it in to apply for the other £40, which I'll do on Monday (I picked all of this up on my day off, I'm off to a music festival in a minute!) Two things disturb me about this; one, that I was dumb enough to sign up for it when referred from which-ever e-commerce site it was, and second, that they then quietly took my money without any receipts being emailed. You'd think it was an obligation to make mention fairly regularly, at least every six months?! I only noticed when I was looking at a bank statement and cross-referenced my purchase receipts.

    Hi Greeba

I am confident that I didn't fill in any form for this. They must get the info from the originating company, maybe Seetickets in your case?

They were fine about giving me a refund too, but I really object to having to fill in the claim form and ask for my own money back when it was taken dishonestly in the first place. I really think there should be laws around this.

  • I was scammed too! I bought a coach ticket on the National Express website and clicked 'Yes' to £10 off my next purchase. Shopper Discounts have agreed to refund the past ten months so that's a total of £100.
If they don't then I will be taking this further. I should cancel my debit card and order a new one just in case...You never know who they might be sharing your details with???? Shame on these companies (Easyjet/Trainline/National Exp etc. )for allowing them access to your details. Might be worth complaining to the companies themselves?

I will be going through my bank statements VERY carefully from now on!
