I`m another who fell for this scam after making an easyjet booking..I wont be using them again..
Thanks to this website, i found the email address of these scammers and just got this reply..
Thank you for contacting me so that I can assist you. As you requested, I have cancelled your Shopper Discounts & Rewards membership and processed refunds of the monthly membership charges. These refunds should appear shortly in your account as credits depending upon how frequently your credit/debit card issuer posts transactions. You will not be billed again.0 -
Phoned them on freephone number and told them:
Me: "Just to let you know I'm contacting Trading Standards unless you refund me the money you've taken from my account"
Call Desk: "Sir you did know that you were signing up...."
Me: "Stop talking and tell me you're going to refund me"
Call Desk: "OK I can do that for you sir - it will come back in 3 £10 payments and I can assure you it will be in your bank within 10 working days"
Me: "and I can assure you if it isn't you'll be hearing from Trading Standards"
Call Desk: "Is there anything else.."
Me: Hang up.

Wow i can't believe it,i have had the exact same thing with these people.
I purchased something from grattan 18 months ago and all i done was open the page to see what this flashing claim back advert was all about.
I never gave my details or anything just opened the page when this claim back appeared.
But after speaking to my bank when i noticed shopper discount on my statement as i had never heard of them, i was shocked to hear they had been taking £10 a month for the last 18 months.
I called shopper discounts to ask why they was taking this money, and straight away they said they would refund the last three months, but they would send a claim form for the rest which they sent me through my e-mail.
I received a letter yesterday saying they would refund the £150 as well.
To be honest i haven't checked my bank statements very much since going to paperless, but will be changing back to paper statements straight away.
Oops, I think I might have pressed the 'Continue' button just now.
From Play.com
Play is a pretty reputable place, right? What are they doing being affiliated with such partners? Hmm...I`m another who fell for this scam after making an easyjet booking..I wont be using them again..

@welshie47: Did you fill out their form or did you just click a link?
I clicked a single button, as soon as I saw their wanted credit card details, I decided against it.
Thanks in advance0 -

I have saved your post for future ref.
I didn't sign up for the 'service', so as far as I know I have no membership number, I guess time will tell if things start trickling out of my acc.
Is there a way to check before I get billed, without contacting them?0 -

We finally found we had been conned after 14 months,my wife remembered booking a train ticket on line and a box appeared saying "do you wish to save £20 on your next purchase of a train ticket so she clicked on it-there was no further explanation, and the next month £10 was deducted-we tend to use our credit card a lot so did not notice this for a while.
I contacted the credit card company who told me that several firms employ these tactics and I noted in a recent Sunday Times article that the government is going to have it stopped. I contacted Shoppers discounts and surprise I got through straight away-got to speak to a "manager" and was promised that a refund would go through no later than December 31st this year-we shall see but I got in touch with my credit card company who informed me that should the offending company not meet their promise, that they would operate a charge back against them so on the face of it I should get the money [text deleted by MSE Forum Team].0 -
I noticed this for the first time this month, I have no idea how or when I signed up for it. I tried ringing up and after getting fed up with trying to get through to customer services to cancel it, I called them for 'details on the benfeits'. I managed to get through to a very helpful man who says he has cancelled my subscription for me. I have received an email confirming this and will keep you posted if anything goes wrong next month!
Just wanted to put that out there if there are any people still struggling to get it cancelled.0 -

I signed up to S,D & R last week after being "pointed" in their direction after reserving items online with Argos. I have e-mailed them the 2 receipts I needed to qualify for their £15 cashback offer & a few days later received an e-mailed reply stating my application is awaiting eligibility verification,(which shouldn't be a problem ),I should then receive my £15 cheque in 4-6 weeks.
It was only when I read a follow up "Welcome, Member" e-mail a few hours ago that I had unknowingly signed up to pay a £10 monthly fee.(My fault I know, for not reading the small print thoroughly).
Now, after reading up on S,D & R on this forum,I fully intend to cancel my subscription, however, I am wondering if I should wait until I have received my £15 & let them take the 1st £10 subscription fee,as I'd be £5 up on the deal, bearing in mind I have already shelled out over £100 on my Argos Sale purchases,(which I would have made anyway & were great value).
Could someone with more experience of them advise me whether I should just sack them off now & put it down to experience, with the possibility being that if they drag their heels with the £15 cashback I could end up getting stung for a 2nd £10 fee.
Thanks in advance for any reply. If you're not living on the edge, you'll take up too much room.0
