Just phoned them, got straight through. They said I was in a 30 day trial period still and cancelled it and they gave me a cancellation number which they say will be on a email to arrived shortly. I'll update if I get this through. Hopefully this means I wont be charged anything. They were called complete savings.
Yes that sounds about right, so you will be fine with that. I don;t know what other names they have, but there will probably be some!
  • My wife hadn't realised she'd been paying £10 a month for 33 months!!! When we challenged them, they offered 3 months compensation which we refused. We then sent an email stating the following:

    'Dear Sir/madam,

I have identified today that £10 has been taken monthly from my bank account since 2009. I have since called your Customer Service Department today and they have explained that this was due to ticking a box whilst purchasing items from M and M Direct in order to receive a further £15 Discount from my next order. Your Representative has also explained to me that i was then signed up for a further 30 days for a free trail, thereafter i would have £10 a month withdrawn from my bank account.

I would like to clarify with you that i never knowingly signed up to this service. I have never received any confirmation or reminder of this service and the exact terms that i have apparently agreed to. I have checked my email history to confirm this. You will see from your records that i have never used, or attempted to use your discount service during this period.

Thank you for the offer of a refund you have made so far in relation to the last 3 months subscription, however, i respectfully demand the remainder of my subscription to be credited to my account within 21 days of the date of this email. I have sought Legal advice and I must inform you that if the remainder of the refund is not made within this stated period I will start proceedings in the County Court in order to recover the remainder of the monies. In addition, I will add to it any costs that I may incur as a result of this claim, ie the court costs.

If you do not honour my claim and i am left to with no option to have to take legal action, i will also ensure that i share my experience with the Office of Fair Trading, MoneySaving Expert, Watchdog, M and M Direct and other internet forums.

    Regards

    ...'

They then offered us 6 months compensation. Again, we refused and then a few days later they sent us the full £330. I think we were luckier than most, I think our email helped our cause!!!

Yep, thanks Steve, i liked your approach and it worked!
  • Just got done through the Pizza Hut site. They have been taking money out for 3 months. Phoned them and they say they will refund. ....thing is I didn't fill any credit card details out to this company. Surely this is illegal? How has it been going on for so long?
  • Wow i can't believe it,i have had the exact same thing with these people.
I purchased something from grattan 18 months ago and all i done was open the page to see what this flashing claim back advert was all about.
I never gave my details or anything just opened the page when this claim back appeared.
But after speaking to my bank when i noticed shopper discount on my statement as i had never heard of them, i was shocked to hear they had been taking £10 a month for the last 18 months.
I called shopper discounts to ask why they was taking this money, and straight away they said they would refund the last three months, but they would send a claim form for the rest which they sent me through my e-mail.
I received a letter yesterday saying they would refund the £150 as well.
To be honest i haven't checked my bank statements very much since going to paperless, but will be changing back to paper statements straight away.
  • I decided to join this as they offered a £20 cash back against any purches (from associated sites) with a 30 day free trial and the £10 per month fee which includes a £10 voucher.
Bought a couple of books that I wanted and emailed the receipt to them. Got a quick reply saying the cashback only applied to my second purchase! So, I emailed back and said there was nothing about having to make two purchase and again got a fairly prompt reply confirming that they did offer a £15 cash back but only on the second purchase.
I emailed again saying they did not seem to know what offers they were running and I would contact Trading Standatrds. Had a reply back after about 24 hours saying "Oh yes, that was the offer, it is valid for any purchase and we will send a cheque for £20."
Obviously not had the cheque yet but it looks as if there might be some genuine offers available but overall I would probably avoid them.
  • After recently noticing a £10 charge on our joint credit card statement I contacted this company and was told we had been subscribed since January 2011 at a monthly fee of £10! I cancelled immediately and emailed them demanding all the subscriptions be repaid to us as we never knowingly signed up, have never used their service and have had no communication from them during this period.

This morning, whilst checking my credit card on-line, lo and behold all the monthly subscriptions have been refunded to our card. Admittedly in separate £10 credits but money returned nonetheless.

One happy bunny today who will watch over 'him indoors' when he is accepting 'money off' offers.

Good to hear that you got your refund with the minimum of fuss. I cannot understand how this company continues to operate.
