Old style satisfaction

One of the main things I love about O/S (apart from saving money of course) is the sense of satisfaction I get from pottering around at home. Just wish I could afford to do it full time!
I love line dried washing, especially sheets.
I love the fresh smell of the house when the windows have been open.
Cooking most of our meals from scratch, beating my food budgets most weeks, shopping at Aldi and the shopping in my trolley which is all fresh and healthy and not junk or ready meals. I love seeing full cupboards and a full fridge, bursting with healthy stuff and loads of fruit and veg.
I love growing our own food and flowers, and doing my own clothing repairs and alterations and making the odd thing.
Having friends round and offering a plate full of home made cakes. HM soup and HM pizza - (both are better than shop bought!) Watching the savings grow, I get more satisfaction from this than I do from having new things)
Buying things from charity shops.
Id better stop now or Ill be here all night!0 -
This may sound weird, but I love it when my fridge is nearly empty because it's so satisfying to know I've used everything in it right down to the last morcel. I hate it when I have to go thru' the fridge checking the freshness of items with the possibility of having to throw food away!!! I'm so much better nowadays, I very rarely have to chuck anything.0
