Ok... to those who commented to my post

My holding £50000 won £350 in 3 months
My partners Holding £30000 for the last 10 years averages £25 per month.

We will see who has the last laugh when we cash em in and buy new ones.

On a holding under £1k, I had nothing for years, then £25 in September, March and April. It's just random.

Is that an average over 10 years (during which time the rate will have varied)?

We will only lose £25 by cashing them in so not a big deal.

It's always been about 25 a month, we will be getting a prize statement from them so we can work it out exactly.

Assuming your £350 is 14 £25 wins, the chance of this or better is about 1 in 400. But some higher wins will affect the calculation.
Calculating your partner's assumes the chances of winning have been the same over the 10 years, which I'm sure they haven't, and all winnings have been £25. Chance of this or worse is 1 in 16.
So you've had above average luck and your partner below average.

Hey, it's your money and your theory - go for it if you think it will help.

When you are an internet/phone newly registered holder can NS&I refund your Premium Bonds in a jiffy, i.e. if I phone them and ask to cash in will they credit my account the same day?

Premium Bond withdrawals don't get sent by faster payment, so you should expect the transfer to take 3 working days to arrive.

I don't know if there will be additional delays for security checks as you're a new user.
