Well in my case (if this helps, Trademark) I had £1,200 worth, which I bought during the mid-'80/90s and won £950 in that time; last win was around Dec'13 of £25.

I have bought some recently, so it'll be interesting to prove your theory (albeit a decade on from your post) wef Jan.'16, when the PBs are 'eligible'!

The first para was interesting, looks like you were winning at above ave odds, but the "dry" spell since Dec 13,appears to have brought you back down to average again. Ive got about the same as you (1400quid) half brought this year.....nothin' so far from the lot bought a few months ago and certainly not anywhere near 900 quid that you have won.

It takes time; those wins were comprised of dribs and drabs (mainly of £50s) over 20 years + !
At one Christmas, I won £100 (excellent timing) and a neighbour at some stage, won £1,000 - oh, if only!

I do wonder if they're worthwhile these days, bearing in mind the attraction of the top prize of x2 £1m and the fact that the holding threshold is now £50K.
  • Disappointing month.

    1 x £25 on £40275.

    Withdrawn £15,000.

Total now £25300. Left £300 worth prizes.

Each bond has the same chance of winning, no matter how long you have held it, or whether it was bought in a large block or small block.

I have just £100 in premium bonds that I have held for nearly 30 years and in that time have won a total of £75 so not a fantastic return. But next month might be the big one!!!

I've just checked the big prizewinning numbers

In the words of the great Eric Morecambe I had "All the right numbers. But not necessarily in the right order!"
