@Stubod - I like your style.. I like to be optimistic about the future too.
I got to full holding in august this year and only won in Oct since. Hoping things change next year. According to RBS if unemployment rate falls below 7% (which i'm confident will happen next year) then they will increase interest rates.. and when that happens i hope NS&I increase the PB interest rates too.. more wins for everybody.!!
Wishful thinking. Carney said recently that rates will remain low to for the foresable future despite falling unemployment.0 -
..the fact that everybody else seems to get so little means that I stand a much better chance of winning loads.....looking forward to my new Aston now......."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

Never rely on postman and cheques, particularly at this time of year. This is the 21st century, make life easy. Get any winnings paid electronically direct in to your account, or if you prefer you can invest any winning in buying more bonds automatically.0 -

I was wrong - we have now had 2 x £25, one each - let's hope this sets a standard going forward :-) I used the money to buy a real Christmas tree :-)Downshifted

Yes, but for many people it feels more like a win when it drops through the letter box.0 -
3 x £25:j I'm getting wins as cheques now, as my account is at the max, so I'm going to relieve it of a bit of money at the top end so that winnings can be automatically re-invested. I'll probably move about £2k out once we get past the 1st Jan draw - on the principle that if I get a win of £2k or over, it'll be worth the extra hassle of a trip into town to bank itReason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

It won't if it drops through next doors letter box or into the posties pocket !
These small 'wins' are nice but they are really only just interest, which usually average out at less than inflation. e.g. if you've got the full £30k and average 2x£25 wins each month, its still less than inflation and is really a 'loss'.0 -

In which case you make sure you check it monthly and contact them if the payment doesn't come through, it's crossed after all so cannot be cashed by anyone else.
There is an argument to invest if you are diversified and invested elsewhere and are a higher rate tax payer, rates then on average are barely worse dependent on your luck, and people like the idea of a 'win' whether this is a loss to inflation or not.
I personally have a. Holding, though it's only a few per cent of total assets. I'm currently wary of bonds at the moment and consider them to form part of the water element of my investments, along with cash and small amounts in bond and property funds.0 -

why not get the winning paid directly into your bank a/c?0
