Premium Bond Winner ?

Is it the excitement that appeals to them? If so, then bet on a random horse, the odds are better, and so is the buzz.
I would totally agree with this idea. I think many people distinguish "gambling" on a horse race or football match with "playing" the national lottery.0 -
Remember, with premium bonds you are losing the interest your money would earn.
Even now you can get 4.25% (taxable) for a five year deposit. So on a thousand pounds that is £35 a year after tax.
So, the true alternative is to buy £35 of lottery tickets.
The way I look at having bonds and losing potential interest is that a few hundred pounds a year is not going to affect my life but winning a big prize will do, so I'm willing to take that risk.
