Me and my partner have max each.

I got nothing for aug, she got £50... Thats it!, very poor indeed. As of today, we have decided to cash in and look for alternative investment. I will be keeping a close eye on the forum to see if any of the fellow members hit the big one... Good luck to you all...

Jonbvn I ma intrigued by your comment, what is it you personally get out of subscribing to this part of the forum?

Just highlighting the fact that on average PB's are a relatively poor savings product. I.e. as per the stated aim of this whole website.

After all it wouldn't be judicious for newbies to come on here and read a 70 page thread just listting PB winnings would it?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

im interested in winning premium bond holders , or not as the case may be , please post your winnings and holding as well as length of time held , i have a theory that newer bonds win more prizes , id prefer not to make this a discussion area of that arguement but i would be interested in your winnings

just a bit of background on me ... im fully invested elsewhere so bonds are another way of trying to be tax free ... im buying £1,000 per month on average and ive only just started this time around , although i have some million year old bonds my grandparents once bought me

    current holding £5,150

winnings for august ..one prize of £100

    held since .. may 2005

Congratulations on your win.:T Hope it's the 1st of many.

I've got £13,507 in bonds and over the last 3 years I've had 19 wins.
My largest win was a £100.00. I purchased one block a year ago (£3,000) and haven't won a bean but I've been very lucky with one particular block.
I've also got £7.00 in individual bonds which date back to the early 1970's & I've never won on these.

Every month I'm convinced I'm going to win a large prize but my dreams haven't come true this month but I'm still hopeful. I love the rush of excitement when I check the website each month.

Yes I can see what you are saying michaeldi, but I know someone who won big on who wants to be a millionaire and there must be even bigger odds on that one. Oh yes and I know someone, who knows someone who won a car in one of those endless Reader's digest draws too. I don't think you can really work on odds in this as there is probably such a huge chance of not winning - you either do it or you don't.

I've purchased about £22000 and won about £14000, (I've been building it up gradualy since 1991). So I'm quite happy with bonds as an investment. I reckon I'm about £4000 up compared to investing the money in a bank.

I hope to build mine up slowly too but no spare cash right now - if I win anything I tend to put it in my cash ISA so it has to be truly spare cash to go into the PBs. Do sometimes wonder if I should put it in there just in case I get a big win but common sense tells me to use up my ISA first.
