I really don't mind how they give me my money but it would take some of the fun out of it don't you think? I don't check for winnings but wait for that little envelope to drop through the letter box instead. It is the element of suprise I suppose. Perhaps it's just a me thing?0

I check every month online, love checking, this month 2 x £50 and 1 x £100, happy month for me.
My cheques arrive anything between 6 days and 20 days into the month.
Re paying into the bank, I suppose it is expensive to send thousands of cheques every month, and with cheques going missing it is probably a headache.
Also if paying direct into a bank, it will probably be automatic and payment will hit the bank and start earning interest straight away.0 -
50 for me this month ... 5200 for the year.
Still looking forward for the big one.0 -
Well if you haven't got it Gazza there is probably another millionth of a chance for me!!0

2 * £30k Holdings
£300 for calander year on one holding (nothing this month)
£200 for other (£150 this month)
Not excactly stunning return but safe home with big potential upside.0 -
I bought £30K worth at the end of Feb (had them on and off over the years), and in my first draw (April) received £150. This is now earning 5% in my savings a/c; every little helps!:D
The way I look at PB's is that on £30K for example, you're "gambling" about £1000 in interest from a savings a/c that pays about 5% (based on the PB calculator odds on this site - 98.7% chance of winning £500 on £30K in 1 year). Granted; £1000 is a very nice sum of money, but I'm more than happy to gamble a grand, for the chance something MUCH bigger. One thing's for sure; there's not a savings a/c in the world that pays £1,000,000 in interest....... someone has to win......;)0 -
I like your take on this goldfinger and entirely agree - if I had that much money it would definately be in PBs.0

Clearly, gambling is not saving. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
It can be if you are winning jonbvn and as I have said before you are not losing your stake either.0

I've been topping up my PB's recently and have now reached the maximum. So the May draw will be the first since I've reached the £30k limit.
I like PB's, I contribute the maximum to cash and share ISA's every year and see PB's as a bit of fun.
I would however be annoyed if I went 2-3 months without winning a prize.
Roll on May's draw :beer:0
