    BIG WINNERS

A question more out of curiosity really, especially from anyone with experience of winning a BIG prize, say £10,000 plus.

The NS&I App/Website will notify results around midnight. I am aware I could check now if I have won a big prize but don't normally bother. Especially, as the odds are so low my expectations are understandably not great. However, in any case since they are already published would I have already been notified in advance by NS&I of my good fortune?
Or alternatively, can I still live in hope that tomorrow morning I will wake up to £100k when I check the App.

PS so far my biggest individual win is £100 but just like to manage my expectations. :)

AFAIK it is only the £1m winners who get contacted in advance.  The first I knew of my 'BIG' prize was when I did the prize checker just after midnight when the latest results went live.

That must have been a nice surprise & hope to experience the same, either tomorrow or in the future.

I won't push you to reveal the amount, but would it have been on the list that is published the day before? Not looked for a while but think they are from £5k upwards.

Yes. But I didn't check that month.

The lowest prize level on the published list is £1000.

As it happens... the NS&I prizechecker was glitchy at the time, so I thought it was an error and decided to check again in the morning.

I usually forget to check as the start of the month always seems to creep up on me... So can I check today, or is it tomorrow?

And is the prize checker best or does information appear on your account record more quickly?

    Edit:
I just went to Prize checker and it confirmed results would be shown on 2nd Dec.

So I think it must be logging into your account doesn't show you winnings until after Prize checker.

Anyone know why they have these two different platforms? It's quite daft.

The prize checker usually shows results some time after 23:30 - the app a smidge later.  If you do look tonight, it might show any prize you've won, but might still say 'November' until after midnight.

Ah! So if you can find your holding value (you can sort by holding size) you could find yourself in the list before midnight
    :#

.... Interesting list, this. But my holding size in my area isn't a big winner.

Apologies to everyone who already knows this. I didn't realise you could sort this, so it feels like new information to me!

As others have said, you won't be notified early unless it's the £1m prize. You can use this website to quickly check your bonds for a high value win from today, you just have to copy in your bond ranges from the NS&I site and it will tell you if you won (or if you're close) ...

Worth bearing in mind that isn't an official NS&I site...

..... But I got to that site from the official site. So it must be linked 🤔
