I read an article in The Telegraph today suggesting that PB prizes might be due an increase soon. NS&I are down on their targets, apparently.5

BIG WINNERS
A question more out of curiosity really, especially from anyone with experience of winning a BIG prize, say £10,000 plus.
The NS&I App/Website will notify results around midnight. I am aware I could check now if I have won a big prize but don't normally bother. Especially, as the odds are so low my expectations are understandably not great. However, in any case since they are already published would I have already been notified in advance by NS&I of my good fortune?
Or alternatively, can I still live in hope that tomorrow morning I will wake up to £100k when I check the App.
PS so far my biggest individual win is £100 but just like to manage my expectations.

AFAIK it is only the £1m winners who get contacted in advance. The first I knew of my 'BIG' prize was when I did the prize checker just after midnight when the latest results went live.ljayljay said:BIG WINNERS

Only the £1m winners are contacted before the results are published. So, yes, you could have won £100k!0

As others have said, you won't be notified early unless it's the £1m prize. You can use this website to quickly check your bonds for a high value win from today, you just have to copy in your bond ranges from the NS&I site and it will tell you if you won (or if you're close) https://premiumbondsresults.com/high-value-winnersljayljay said:BIG WINNERS

My closest bond to a high value prize was over 2.7m bonds away from a winner.

Worth bearing in mind that isn't an official NS&I site...grandweb said:

I have used both mine and my partners ISA allowance for the tax year, shall i have what i have left over put into premium bonds1

The standard advice on here would apply, i.e. focus on maximising net return rather than minimising tax - even with large PB holdings for a long time, the average luck return is easily beaten by the headline rate of leading savings accounts, but the effect of taxation on those returns can only be evaluated in your own specific circumstances (higher rate taxpayer? PSA fully used? etc)....Carl2510 said:I have used both mine and my partners ISA allowance for the tax year, shall i have what i have left over put into premium bonds1 -
The guy who calls the winner of the £1m prize is leaving it a bit late this month! <Checks watch>0
