So it's you lot who are taking my share of the median winnings; only £25 for each of the last two months on FH! ISA's maxed out for this year and last (S&S & cash) so I'll be forgetting them for now and review at the end of the year, although I do have other holdings which I'll prioritise to put into ISAs. I'd still rather have my mum though..2

I really don't blame you!RetiredTaz said:
Sadly, I doubt that as I’m pulling 10k out 😏Dizzycap said:

Winning nothing over three years with a £10K holding is exceptionally unusual (based on current odds, about one in 12.8 million), and that risible piece of clickbait you linked to doesn't even address that anyway!Dizzycap said:I didn't win anything, although tbh, I've only got a handful left. At one pint I held 10k worth of PB and never won a bean for 3 years!
Whilst some said, well you should have won something by now, apparently, it's not that unusal:
Nobody claims that premium bonds are necessarily the best place to put money but any comparison with alternatives has to be on a reasonable like for like basis, so the return achievable from a junior ISA, where no access to funds is possible until the child reaches 18, is obviously not a meaningful comparator with an easy access product....Dizzycap said:Needless to say, I withdrew my 10k and put into a child's ISA where it has been gaining 5% a year since! That's good enough for me & I'm winning every month with interest - Enough said!0 -
That's because you need to take it with a pinch of salt...eskbanker said:

I checked this poster's statements about PBs before and found lots of conflicting info about how much they held and for how long. I certainly would not let it skew my opinion on the merits of PBs.0 -

I certainly would not let it skew my opinion on the merits of PBs.This posting error was already highlighted as it was in regards to my daughters holding, so NO, my recent posting is correct I held 10k worth of premium bonds which I cashed in after 3 years because I won nothing whilst my daughter who held £700 PB now holds £750 after a £50 win. I simply said my/I because I am the guardian of her bonds. It's a well known fact that there are many who win absolutely nothing for years.........Check your facts & Appology accepted @ ukbren!~ NSD 2025 - NSD November 11/15 (11 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - On Rest - 2 x £25 Vouchers Redeemed, 29 FREE Books of RM Stamps & 2 x Presentation Pack.~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1698.68 / £2025 (4) 💯💯💯# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £21,877.08 / £12,000 💯 (8) - Continuing0 -
If you want to talk facts then it's better to do so if they're kept in their proper context - it's undoubtedly true that there are many PB holders with small holdings who win nothing, because that's how probabilities work, but conversely those with substantial holdings do win regularly, and it's a wide spectrum in between, so it's unhelpful and misleading to generalise.Dizzycap said:

As above, it's factually demonstrable that winning nothing for three years with £10K is a freakishly unlikely outcome (12.8 million to one, not dissimilar to the odds of winning the national lottery before the increase from 49 to 59 numbers), rather than the 'not that unusual' you were claiming.1 -
Got an email this evening, saying I'd won in this month's draw. Thought it seemed suspicious, given it's a few days after the draw, so didn't click on the link. Checked my NS&I account and sure enough, I have won. No money in my bank account just yet.0

The email would be useful if it told you how much you'd won.Aylesbury_Duck said:Got an email this evening, saying I'd won in this month's draw. I assume they don't declare the amount on the email in case the recipient's emails are visible to others, e.g. family members on a shared device.Swipe said:

I opted for text notification and received it on the 3rd- whether they consistently send email ones later I don’t know. It does seem odd for them to arrive on a Saturday.Aylesbury_Duck said:Got an email this evening, saying I'd won in this month's draw.
