Got an email this evening, saying I'd won in this month's draw.   Thought it seemed suspicious, given it's a few days after the draw, so didn't click on the link.   Checked my NS&I account and sure enough, I have won.  No money in my bank account just yet.
I opted for text notification and received it on the 3rd- whether they consistently send email ones later I don’t know. It does seem odd for them to arrive on a Saturday.
That's why I was suspicious and wouldn't use the link on the email.  Within the same hour I had an email from a pharmacy subscription company that I knew was dodgy because I don't have an account with them, so I immediately assumed the NS&I email was equally dodgy.

£50 on FH.  Returns dropped (perhaps not unexpectedly) last few months.

You get an email 2 or 3 days after the win but it takes around a week for the money to arrive

    Holding nearly £44K now,
Won £50 in June & £100 in July, both a single bond win.
Total for the 7 draws in 2025 is £475, probably well below par now.
    Save £12,000 in 2024: £17,500 out of £12,000.

Any ideas for where I should go once I’ve made my first £50k (I realise that starting in PBs wasn’t crazily wise). The first £50k will stay in PBs though for nostalgia’s sake.

S&P500? Gold? Stocks and shares ISA?

Obviously an ISA of some kind might be a sensible option if you,re a taxpayer. The autumn budget is obviously going to see big tax increases for a chunk of the population, even those who previously believed they were exempt.
