Well quite. I'm the one with IBS and he's never let me live down the day that I got through a whole roll in a day! I totally agree that it all balances out in the end. He eats more than I do because he's a boy but I would never dream of saying we should split grocery bills 60/40 instead of 50/50 for example. I was just interested to see if this has ever been an issue for anyone else. My flatmates at uni went on TP strike once claiming that I should buy more than them as I was a girl and they didn't use that much. So I started buying my own, hid it in my room and let them use newspapers, horrid boys!No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
he he, these are all so funny and to guidarufino, but your OH the really really cheap (and possibly nasty) loo roll and get some luxury stuff for yourself, especially if you have IBS, I myself used to suffer from this and know how awful and painful it can be (peppermint oil capsules worked for me)
At the moment Costcutter have Charmin 9 rolls at £4.09 or 2 packs for £5, 27p per roll, see their website www.costcutter.com for your local store (probably your local garage)0 -
Nice to see a thread full of people watching loo roll prices - and my OH said it was just me.
He's the one with the golden bum so we can't (read: he refuses to) use Value recycled paper. Novelle was ok but these horror stories of plumbing problems are putting me off... esp since my OH uses loo roll (for non-wiping the bum functions - don't ask me - anything for a quiet life) in huge long sheets and puts them all down the bog at the same time.
Like someone else before, I adjusted my buying habits to suit my OH's more expensive/fussy shopping needs. We stock up on his items on BOGOF deals so there are constantly at least 2x bottles of shampoo/ shower gel/ body spray and 1x face wash/ moisturizer going spare in our household.0 -
Asda's own brand "Value" (or whatever they call their lowprice range) loo rolls are 100% recycled and cheap too As are their kitchen rolls And of ok quality too
I am very fussy with my toilet roll only ever using Charmin or quilted, but other day I bought ASDA own to try it and I was really impressed, so went and bought a huge pack which cost next to nothing. No more expensive stuff for me, not all the economy is good but ASDAs seems to be, Sainsbury economy not bad either0 -

Just a thought, whisky and wine....very bad for IBS, its the yeasty-ness in those 2 things that contributes...so if theres ever a good reason to cut out the whisky and wine then having IBS is....I used ot get it and wine was one of the worst things....used to give me major bad hangovers too as not very tolerant of wine again due to it being fermented or yeasty or whatever it is.0 -
Good thinking! He can use the cheap stuff and I'll stick to Charmin, my favourite! I have tried other cheaper brands but they're just not soft enough for my delicate derriere!
I think you're right about wine, it does seem to have a very bad effect on me which is tragic as I adore wine! I have been thinking I'll have to stick to vodka, fewer calories too, but it's a real shame because I just love a nice bottle of wine, especially if I got it on a special offer! It's bad enough I can't eat dairy, next you'll be telling me chocolate's bad for me!No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

Victoriaplum - can I give you his mobile number please????
I'm blue in the face from telling him this but does he listen? Does he heck!
I've given up trying to help him - the Dr has now given him Fibrogel or summat and then OH tells me he can never eat any more fruit as it makes him bad. Well tough, cause I'm on a diet and I'm going to keep buying it!!!0
