  • I still can't believe we're all talking about toilet roll, i once worked in a customer services dept in a well known supermarket. This man came storming down the back of checkouts. He was very unhappy he wanted a refund the magnolia ones cleaned his bottom much better than the lavender ones he wanted his money back. I giggled for weeks i gave him the reund tho.:money:

Now i'm doing it talking about toilet roll:j

  • Home bargains have nouvelle-4 for 74p....does the job, not had a problem except when blowing my nose (not the best for that, but then again thats what facial tissues are for!!)
  • Think may depend on what stores local to you-Farm Foods are doing 9 excellent rolls for £2 but unsure of their national coverage.

    I buy the Sainsburys 12 x pack for £1.12.

Better for the environment than the thick ones and costs less too.

Next stage will be the recycled variety but I still have lots of the £1.12 to go through yet.

I cannot believe anyone still buys toilet roll that is not made from RECYCLED paper. In fact I can't believe its still legal to sell it.

    DISGRACEFUL!

All go out and save yourself a few pennies - and stuff the planet at the same time. Good on you. NOT. Why not get a conscience and buy recycled instead. By all means save money - personally I buy Nouvelle. But I never buy it at full price. I buy it in bulk when its on offer - which is often, so there's no excuse.

Tesco Value, already mentioned by bigkris in #10, is 100% recycled as well as being moneysaving. It also uses lower grade post consumer waste than Nouvelle, which only recycles high grade paper. As there is more demand for high grade post consumer waste paper than for the lower grade varieties then I think that Nouvelle is losing out a little in the "yah boo I'm the only one with a conscience" stakes.

well i like Charmin O/H has Lidl ...i buy mine wholesale in big packs, and dont pay vat as my sister gets them and sells to me nett !!!! Have tried Lidl (and Sommerfields offer) but personally i dont like them - to each their own...O/H says its fine...but then again he's a man lol....

and i find charmin the best to blow my nose in too lol esp when i got a cold - far cheaper than facial tissues/or balm ones.... :)

p.s. weve got our own cess pit and we've not found any issues with either sort not flushing/breaking down and causing blockages in the sewer system or the collection bulb thingy in the ground (sorry dont know the technical term for it !!!) as its out own system and not a public utility company's we have to be aware of what it can deal with and what it cant. otherwise were up to our necks in it (well not literally) and it costs the earth to get it sorted !!!

    nuff said now :)
