Cost Cutter cornershops are doing four rolls of Velvet for 99 pence - Morrisons eat your heart out :)http://www.costcutter.com/offerscurrent.php
Normally those shops are anything but cost-cutting, but I've found it's worth keeping an eye on their special offers as some are pretty good.

If anyone lives in Birmingham and goes regularly to the Birmingham Rag Market you will find a lovely lady seller there who sells large industrial toilet rolls. They are enormous! They last forever. The only embarrassment is getting on the bus with them all. (Still it's a conversation piece). They work out at about £1 each and one roll lasts far longer than any packs you can buy for £3.99. Added bonus is you don't have to change the roll often. Disadvantage - you might feel embarrassed having a jumbo economy roll hanging up in the toilet (but it beats newspaper!)

I cannot believe anyone still buys toilet roll that is not made from RECYCLED paper. In fact I can't believe its still legal to sell it.

    DISGRACEFUL!

All go out and save yourself a few pennies - and stuff the planet at the same time. Good on you. NOT. Why not get a conscience and buy recycled instead. By all means save money - personally I buy Nouvelle. But I never buy it at full price. I buy it in bulk when its on offer - which is often, so there's no excuse.
  • Iceland sell rolls for £1 also...although they are usually a 4pack but mostly have an offer on it and you get either 6 or 8 for a quid!

They are decent quality rolls too and its not a one off offer, they are always there.
