I buy 36 rolls for £4 at Smithfield market Manchester (on sunday mornings). Great quality, very long and soft, but you get a mixed lot. Different makes, colours etc. They don't all have perferations all the way along and some of the cardboard tubes are the wrong size. But very good value when you think what you are going to do with them!!!!!Also buy kitchen rolls for £2 for 12. M2m.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.0

I must say this is probably the worst I have tried, I recycle alot so do not feel guilty about not using this brand. Last time it was on offer in Somerfields I bought a few packs and assumed I would be back for more before the offer finished, it was awful. What I buy usually depends on what is on offer but never again will I go for that one.0

The type of toilet paper you use can depend on your plumbing. My next door neighbour and myself have found that most expensive brand as well as nouvelle blocks the pipes to the drains. Her plumber told her to stop using nouvelle because he had to clear the pipes three times in just a few months.
I buy seconds toilet rolls,36 for 5.99 or sometimes 3.00 for 36 but these are very poor quality but useable if you have patience to unroll and seperate the pieces. The rolls have cuts on them and thats why they are cheap.
MUMTOOMANY: Where is smithfield market in Manchester and is it a large market? What time is it open? We live about 1/2 hour from Manchester.0 -
I cannot believe anyone still buys toilet roll that is not made from RECYCLED paper. In fact I can't believe its still legal to sell it.
DISGRACEFUL!
All go out and save yourself a few pennies - and stuff the planet at the same time. Good on you. NOT. Why not get a conscience and buy recycled instead. By all means save money - personally I buy Nouvelle. But I never buy it at full price. I buy it in bulk when its on offer - which is often, so there's no excuse.Started my own business and loving being my own boss

Do other couples have this issue and how have you resolved it? I do use quite a lot of TP but do have IBS and also think life's too short to scrimp on certain necessities, such as TP.
My OH and I moved in together 6 months ago and he has IBS and spends 10x as much time as me up there but we pay half each on the general shopping. I'm sure there's stuff he's going to want that you won't - it all balances in the end - he also likes whiskey and wine whereas I'm not bothered but I'm not tight enough to refuse him these even though I'm trying to keep our budget down. I stock up on these types of offers for OH - my garage currently holds 40+ rolls! :rotfl:0 -
