G&B- thanks re the wight loss  I have had weigh to many eggs this week but I ironically after not eating chocolate for 40 days I tend to lose a little bit as I don't snack on big bowls of cornflakes or chilli and rice I have a tiny (???) piece of chocolate so actually less chocolate. Go on holiday next week so not sure what will happen. Won't be able to post or tidy up :D:D:D

JillD. My little ones are 2 and 4 and are quite happy to play in the living room, at least I can keep ann eye on them-need to fix DS window and get a lock put on it!!

cha97cmichelle you seem to be soiung an awful lot today :nono: make sure you get a little rest time- i know that it is easy to say but us flyladies need to keep an eye on you (please don't think that I am nagging just concerned)

Quick question for anyo ne that can help.

I would like to make some HM bread but used to have a bread maker but alway found that the centre seemed very doughy (SP?)

Firstly does anyone know where I can buy a Transformers cake? DS1 is 5 next week and this is what he wants.

    Done so far:
1 x DW, 2 x WM, 2 x TD, one change master bed sheets, 1 x move mattress and furniture and contents of our bedroom, 1 x toilet clean, 1 X strip a 16x16 room of mouldy wallpaper and nasty polysterene ceiling tiles, 1 x fill ten rubble sacks and two black bin bags with resulting mess. Injuries - I have numerous scratches, no skin on my knuckles and I couldn't lift my hands above my head if I tried.

+ve - the room looks massive now, and the plaster is mostly sound and in theory just wants skimming. Someone had painted all of the walls with varnish so the wallpaper and polysterene came off fairly easily.
-ve - someone has painted all of the walls with what looks like varnish which may explain some of the damp problem - not sure if we now need to strip back to brickwork to resolve.

I am shattered, but at least we can be getting on with the skilled stuff tomorrow rather than DH wasting time on stuff I can do.

SAV3R it's a bellini BM and the last loaf didn't rise and was like a brick, any other time it rises but tastes yuck. Have tried different recipes but haven't found one that works well, don't know what i'm doing wrong.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    vanilla just checked my manual for troubleshooting, there is quite a list though for not rising;

not enough liquid, liquid too hot - if hot it kills yeast
    sugar not added
wrong type of flour - needs to be strong bread flour not ord plain
wrong type of yeast - needs to be easy blend fast action
    yeast too old
yeast and sugar mixed - need to be kept seprate when adding

not sure if any of this helps.

Are you using recipes which came with the machine? They do seem to vary a bit for some reason, but, I am no expert yet, just lucky I guess. When I did my first, I switched the machine on and watched for 4 mins while it whirred but didn't mix, I switched off and checked inside, I only hadn't clicked the basket in properly. Doh... I restarted the cycle and it was fine.

Didn't use sugar in the last recipe so maybe thats the problem. The recipes in the book that came with it are crap but i think i'm desperate enough now so i take another look to night:rotfl: it will make a good loaf yet.

Right away to get dinner on.

    Afternoon everyone!
Managed half an hour attack on study last night - but still lots more to go I think!
Took kiddies to soft play and then to Ikea - now freezer has meatballs in it! Mine just don't taste the same!
This evening's jobs include getting ready to work tomorrow, sticking BM on and maybe managing some muffins! (Like the sound of raspberry and chocolate) - but may have to compromise!
Saturday will be mainly working but DD1 is away overnight and DH is out too - so me and littlest gingers get to spend some mummy time together - then when they're in bed I can do some more in study. I have been inspired by the piccies posted.
Have to say a big thanks to the person who mentioned the daylight alarm clock thingies. I got one on ebay and it's fab! Woke up this morning feeling much better! (Sorry I can't remember who recommended them - must be the blonde in me!)
OK - kitchen here I come!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I've been busy - DD's cupboard is now empty  My room now looks like a storeroom and I still have her furniture to move into it  She has plenty of clothes and a full box worth put away which is "age 8" or "8-9" then ANOTHER box of clothing :confused: I still need to move her toy boxes from under the bed as well. I really didn't realise we had so much stuff in there but the thing is that apart from her "7-8" clothing thats out for her to wear there is nothing to go as we either use it or its a keepsake (like photos, certifcates, "good" toys etc or things I don't want smashing etc) :o I did not enjoy it at all. I kept finding alsorts of things that ex and I bought for her, or things that brought back memories of happier times (like scan pictures - I can still clearly remember ex being really chuffed that that little person was his baby too and how much he enjoyed feeling her kick and move! ) . In the end I had to get out and have a break from it as I started crying again :o

So I went to the local charity shop and had a good rummage ;) Came out with a Disney princess quilt cover and pale pink pillowcase, some large handmade curtains which should do for under the bed in lilac, and 1 pair (there were 3 pairs in there!) of blue "friends" (like Groovy Chick) curtains which have pink and purple and many other colours on them as well all for £6.50 :D PLUS I've just got back to find an email from a Freecycler who might have some more stuff for me for the bedroom :D All in all a good day I think. Just washing everything through now. :j

Tea time - Chunky cod pieces, crinkle cut chips (for a treat) and mushy peas - may even have some ice-cream for pudding as DD has been so good today (and I want to get it out the freezer :p )

    **scream** **yell** **stamps feet**

I could really hurt my partner right now who has just dropped a bombshell on me that on Monday, yes after he'll be sleeping then straight to work tomorrow then going away until late Sunday night straight after work, that his Dad, Step Mam and the worst bit his bloomin' Grandma are planning on visiting us!! Panic!!!! They all live in what could only be described as 'show homes' where you would struggle to prove someone actually lives they are so immaculate. Before anyone says it no they aren't coming to see us as they never bothered at the last house, not once in 7 years because of where we lived, they are only coming to be nosey.

So, I have a kitchen which is untidy, a conservatory and dining room which have become a dumping ground, enough washing around the place drying that you would confuse the house as a laundrette, bedrooms only pigs would be happy in and a wardrobe in boxes unbuilt in my living room (but the rest of the living room is sort of ok thankfully) ...........so guess who alone is doing housework, housework, housework all weekend. Oh and the kids both have colds, pushing each others patience as they are both moaning lots, I tried using that to put them off coming over but they still want too, grr!! **ETA and a garden that's a tip still from the windy weather over the last few days, some poop maybe there too, forgot about that bit**

Ok, still need to remake DS2s bed once his sheets are dry, someone switched the TD off but noone knows who! Then I think a list of 'must dos' for the weekend.
One day I might be more organised...........
