Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I've been hunting for the list I posted last night :rotfl:

Well, good intentions to jump back on the Flylady wagon and I've done very little over the week. It was another hellish (but short) week at work and I lay on my unmade, unchanged bed at 6 and an hour went by before I decided to get up. I think tomorrow morning will be catch up time..The place is a tip because I've been forcing myself not to buzz round moving things. Some things have to wait when I haven't the energy to spare and I don't want another week end like last when all I could do was cry with exhaustion in a tidy house.
Anyhow, first chance I got today I booked an Indian head massage for Tuesday and the thought has kept me sane all day. Yippee!
Books (there's no Flying in this post by the way..) Juliejim, hard to say what kinds of books I like, not a chick lit fan though. Sue-y, if you find anywhere that does recommendations let me know. I rely on my Amazon wish list which does a 'if you liked this you'll like these' kind of thing. I might have a look for an online book club or maybe a real life one if I'm feeling brave!

Hex, I 'awww'd at your pic of kitty in the bag, very sweet. Mine had a thing for empty cereal boxes as a kitten. Vanilla, hope you feel well soon, it does sound like the fluey sinusitis that's been going round. It sucks.
Lil_me, are you Flying madly then or re-arranging their vist? Actually, while we're on the subject of visitors judging one's house..<rant alert> My mother is in danger of turning into the M-I-L from hell. She and my step dad went down to my Bro's to do some snagging jobs before he puts his house on the market. Baring in mind they have an 11 week old baby and my brother works 12 hour night shifts and no-one has slept since January, she had a go at my brother about how his wife does 'nothing' and that they need to get their priorities sorted. I had to bite my tongue when she told me this. My mother's house is immaculate, she does little else. I'm seeing where I get certain traits from at the moment; time to break the mould I reckon and also see if I can repair some bridges between them before the Christening in a week's time. Rant over thank you for reading just wanted to get it off my chest!

I'm a bit puzzled by the message beside Martin at the top of the page about British Summer Time..does it mean Sunday, 'cos it doesn't say Sunday or is it tonight instead?

No Nicki nothing from CHB (child benefit) for me, possibly a fortnights payment from them if you have missed one, but I have one for £30.96 which is showing up unnamed, thanks for pointing the CHB one out or I wouldn't have seen it. Wonder where that is from....

Well I thought about what you all said, I was >> << close to telling him to knickers off and tell them the same, then I had a bit of a rethink.....If the boys are better by Monday and can cope with the visit, like DP said it'll get it out of the way (they've been on about coming over since we moved in especially after DP was VERY sarcastic about it) and if I can get the housework side done (just made a 2 day plan) then DP said 'Well I'll have to build that wardrobe on Monday if they are coming over' ahhhhhhh light bulb, soooo, if I can cope with the rest he'll build the wardrobe some time this year....so I think I'll see how the weekend goes and if I can manage will do so just so he has to do the wardrobe. It took him nearly a year to build the last one, this could be my big chance!!!

Solway must have cross posted :o I took ages to type that, have a *soggy wet kipper* for slopping your Mother with :D Tell her 'For goodness sake give them a break and let them enjoy their little treasure!' from me :p Oh and it's Sunday, 1am I thought however, I noticed that too.

Oh johanne is it a Beardy? You don't need to give them locusts, they can manage on a fruit/veg/crickets diet (with supplement powders) and do fine on it, because of lack of local suppliers mine only had one box of Locusts last year. Some will eat the dry food mixes that are out now but mine refuses it, think he's a bit old to retrain onto it to be honest. Locusts, worms etc can be used as a treat but not necessary really.
One day I might be more organised...........

I couldn't get one at the beginning of January for my sons birthday, but that was possibly because it was just after Christmas but they do loads of toppers/decorating things on ebay with Transformers if you struggle to get one. I just searched for Transformers Cake.

Oh and I found the £30.96 :D reminded by johanne's earlier post I checked Quidco, yup, looks like both of my 'enquiries' ones have paid out, wohoo bit more cash in the pot for April.

  • Problem with Transformers stuff, is that all the merchandise (cakes too) came out in time for the Movie last year. Now it's hard to find I'm afraid.

    Evening all,

Please can I have the raspberry and chocolate muffin recipe.

Lil-me - hope the visit is not as bad as expected. My MIL never visisted our last house and we lived their for 11 years. We've been here for 3 and it's closer to ehr, but she still hasn't been! I'm not complaining though.

Solwaykid - clocks go back something like 2.00am 3oth, so Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Vanilla - hope your headache is much better now. I have stuff on prescription for migraine - Naramig (Naratriptan) but you can buy Sumatriptan over the counter and my daughter has found they work well for her. They are expensive though and you can only take 2 in 24 hours. I've also now been given a single dose nasal spray which works even quicker.

Well, after flying badly all week, I've been on a bit of a roll. I did some stuff first thing, then we went off to town via the tip and home via the charity shop, so that was a well planned outing.

Since we came home, I have moved every stick of furniture in the lounge so although it still has bare plaster on the walls, it's clean! Tomorrow, I have to do my Supermarket Sweep, but will come back and crack on with the dining room and my ironing pile. But what's just as good is DS has been very busy in his room, re-arranging his furniture and vacuuming as he went!

nickysnackynoo I think the worst time for me being able to get toys etc was last Christmas. My sons been into Tranformers for years and getting things was easy, he has 2 types of bed sets etc etc. Problem we hit was when the movie came out and everyone wanted it, was loads harder getting things for him.

    PF
swap, you can have the nosey ones who want to visit all of a sudden :rotfl: . I guess what winds me up the most is they are both still fairly young (just turned 50) both drive, have both driven past where we lived no doubt on a weekly basis at the most as we were only 6/7 mile from them, yet they just expected us to go there all the time, we only live about a mile closer now. That includes when we didn't have a car, they would even offer to pay half the taxi fare or bus fare (DSs were only little at the time, 2 tots in a double buggy) but never offered to drop us off/pick us up or anything like that. It's weird because his Step Mam is lovely, we've always I thought got on very well, it's just a lack of 'effort' which bugs me. But I suppose now they are coming over I am moaning :o

To be honest if I'd kept up with my Flying it'd be easier, but hit and miss with studying, appointments and being lazy :o means things have slacked a little. Ok well I've done half the kitchen with the little energy I had left, that half looks great now so I will have to do the other half to match :D all about the psychology. Tomorrows list is kitchen finishing and utility (in the middle of feeding/watering/entertaining and nursing poorly children) as DP won't help in those areas, classes them as 'your place' so I may aswell do them first :D leaving the work he's more likely to help with until last like the sitting room/conservatory incase I run short of time.

I need to get the OU stuff for the next assignment out (which is due in just over 2 weeks) for DP to look through, he can then see if there is any issues we might have it and maybe make a start as he stays up until 6am when he's going away on the Sunday so he can sleep until tea time. He'll be able to deal with DSs who'll no doubt be awake by then aswell :D
One day I might be more organised...........

JillD. My little ones are 2 and 4 and are quite happy to play in the living room, at least I can keep ann eye on them-need to fix DS window and get a lock put on it!!
Similar to mine then, my older ones are DS 4 (well he'll be 5 in June) and DD just turned 3 in December. Mine play in their rooms sometimes but prefer to annoy each other downstairs LOL They are getting very good at going to their rooms when I shout at them to do so as a last resort punishment :rotfl: DS will sit in there bawling all upset at the injustice (men, so melodramatic), DD just happily plays with her toys, she's not bothered in the least. Very annoying as she is usually the aggressor in their arguments but poor DS just gets sucked in and is more vocal, will he ever learn I wonder......

Where are you going on holidays ? We go a week on Monday for a week. Can't wait for a change of scenery.
