:hello: Hello everyone, managed to catch up with thread - again. Most of you have probably gone to bed. I will soon, just wanted to say:

Solway - I love reading, when I get stuck into a book I don't do anything else - not always a good thing! Does anyone know if there's a thread with people recommending books, if you like that you might like this sort of thing? Wish I could pass some of my lethargy onto you, am a master of chilling!

viv, hex and sharon - your photos look outstanding well done:T  . Managed to sort the study out abit today. Still a couple small piles of paperwork to sort thru. Might do it tomorrow. Going into Citizens Advice tomorrow (3 months into my volunteering stint), then popping into MrTs, then will try and motivate myself to do abit more flying.

AnW'smum - awww - your kiddies are beautiful!

All the birth stories confused me abit, I lost who was pregnant and who wasn't! I know johanne is (I'm not a particularly frilly person, but dont mind a swish of borderie anglais!), and I think cha97michelle is and it sounds like your both nearly due.

Infact, I've got to make notes as I'm catching up on the thread so I can remember what to say to whom! I'm definitely spending less time on MSE and more time cleaning, this thread really works!! Got up to level 3 in kitchen and living room and level 1 everywhere else so far so the house is looking better than it has since Christmas, thanks ladies! :j

Johanne - You dont need to tell them who does or doesnt actually live with you, you could just ask your midwife if they can do the induction even a week later, tell her when OH can/cant help. If they do ask in hospital I would just be honest about the suport you will/wont have at that time, its not really alam bells they just want to make sure you have the support you need. The first few days are the most crazy. It settles down a lot very quickly. Its good that your folks are around as well. Just be hinest but all I was saying was dont be afraid to ask for an earlier induction.
I suppose the only downside might be that if baby isn't "ready" the induction may take more attempts to get it going. I can't remember if they do an internal examination to see how ready the cervix is, as well as maybe determining if the baby's head is engaged yet.
If MW says no ask her to explain why they wont do it early. At NCT classes they said when you are being TOLD to do something (in this case go 2 weeks over before induction) - use your BRAINS.
B - what are the Beneifts of waiting the two weeks
R - what are the risks of inducing earlier
A - are there any alternatives - prob not in this case
Unfotunatley I can't remember what the I, N and S stand for LOL . Information maybe, "Not" doing it maybe, S - no clue LOL

I'm sure more people in the day will come on and tell me I am talking carp in some way!

Another reader here - I recommend Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris, finshed it at the weekend, was very good. Not totally trashy bit too highbrow either.
What sort of stuff do you read Sue - any recommendations ?

I recommend you go over to Gingham Ribbons 'Confessions of a very tired old styler' thread!!! (Thats if you haven't already). Pigpen's post (no 363) has just completely creased me up!!

I've read Chocolat and enjoyed it. Will put my brain into gear and think of others you might like. Currently reading Blowing It, cant remember the author. Its about a couple just hitting their 60s and dreaming up of selling the house and go travelling the world on a bus. Just started it, not really getting into it, might ditch it for something else.

LOVE all the photos. Just LOVE them :D

Checked out PPs post on Gingham Ribbons thread, and the follow on, absolutely hilarious!

Have spent far too long on here trying to catch up with posts - have been MIA all week.

    Have done this week:
Kind of kept laundry up to date - but haven't changed any beds yet
    DS4 vacuumed living areas
We have eaten every night - that's always a bonus
    Worked extra hours
Went to first puppy class for new puppy.

    Still to do this week:
    Clean bathrooms
    Change beds
    Vacuum again
    Clean laundry room
Update finances, both business & personal

    Still to do today:
Wait for baking to cool and put in freezer
Banking - get it ready, and take it to the bank
Put some time in starting cleaning the laundry - it STINKS of smelly puppy.
In fact, the whole house STINKS of smelly puppy!!!!
    Get something out for dinner.
    Unload/reload dishwasher.

Somehow I think I'll just end up sitting here reading . . .

    Morning All

My heating's gone off again this morning. I think it's just the pilot light though so I'll get my dad to come down and sort it for me as DH isn't back until tomorrow morning.

Just going to have a tidy up in my LR while I wait for my computer to arrive - between 8am and 1pm - knowing my luck it'll arrive at 1 if not later!

Good pics Sharon - well done!

    Catch you in a bit

Sharon - it loks much better - do you have the blinds open now?

Pigpen - believe me I empathise! We did the Snug one and put a wood burner in. Our DR wall is naked, but the bricks are still in the fireplace as there is a huge crack in the wall and the supporting timber is rotten. The LR needs doing and has a gas fire to go, but I do have a reclaimed fireback cleaned up and ready to put in. Have you got a skip lined up or is there not too much mess? Are you plastering back? What are you doing about a fire? Do you have a thin layer of dust everywhere (or was that just us). Sorry so many questions - but good to talk to someone who is doing the same stuff without builders. DH can plaster etc but doesn't have that much free time to do things.

JillD - thanks for the egg suggestions, I could think of lots of nice puddings and cakes but nothing savoury. I made bacon and egg muffins for the boys yesterday and egg mayonnaise for them for tea. Boys are going to make buns in a bit which will use a couple more. Frittata for dinner I think with an egg and prawn starter.

Today I need to clear the contents of our bedroom. We are going to move into DSS1's bedroom (the biggest and brightest in the house) so that we can strip the nasty polysterene stuff off the ceiling in ours this weekend. The ceiling will probably need skimming by DH. Need to take the carpet up and see if the woodworm in the LR beams is in there too. Time permitting DH will be putting up a stud wall to divide our bedroom into two rooms - one for DSS1 and one for DSS2. Then we can start the rest of the upstairs - which includes several moved walls, losing one set of stairs, moving the bathroom and adding an en suite. Bit busy then - but none of this could start until I sorted junk mountain. I have to go to the Co-op first though - I have gone through a whole roll of black bags!!!!!
