I have a room in my house which we haven't ever used.. it has been an indoor garage for the last 3 YEARS!!!!

I have boxes unpacked from when we moved here (july 05)

I have only ever cleaned my oven once in 5 years.

My windows are so dirty they look like I have nets up!

Ok so flying may NOT be happening this week...

[start of a depressing long post - sorry in advance but need to speak to someone]

This time last week we were rushing off to the local hospital as OH's sis had rang to say his 71 year old dad had been rushed into hospital with pains and abnormal vomitting. He has alot of medical conditions anyway and we were all really concerned (especially as last time it happened about 5 years ago he actually died and was resussed 12 times and spent a whole year in critical care unit)

He has been in all week while they try and find out what it is.. and its still a bit touch and go because they only "think" they have found the cause - a twist in the bowel and a possible rupture. Theyre not sure how or if they can treat it and hes hooked up to all sorts of machines etc... Hes been really ill today apparently but OH couldnt go in to visit due to work and i felt too exhausted but OHs mum and sis have gone in religiously every visiting so we knew hed have some visitors.

OH has just rang me from work though... and sounded devastated, he asked if i was sitting down... obviously my heart sank and i feared the worse...... but what OH said completely shocked me... "My mums in hospital too"... turns out shed been leaving the hospital after visiting FIL and has slipped and fell on the steps into the carpark! :(:( It was obviously a really bad fall as shes broken her right wrist, her left elbow, her nose and gashed all her face open.... :( Im really shocked!

Shes not young herself at 67.. and apparently had already broken her wrist in the past and had had it pinned... so now it will probably never heal! But they have put it in a plaster cast, her opposite arm in a sling and stitched her face, but cant do anything for her nose for 10 days. OH cant go see her till tomorrow but his sis (who is there) says they want to keep her in.. especially as she has thrombosis in her legs already so they need to monitor her after such a bad fall...... but they'll wheel her up to see her husband tomorrow.. but now my OH is stuck in work on a night shift and in pieces as BOTH his parents are in hospital.....

    [/end depressing bit]

Add to that as i said earlier im 37 weeks pregnant! Does anyone know what type of stitch is strongest?? Might need to be sewing my bits up to keep this baby in!!!!! Dont think he could cope with all 3 of us in hopsital at once!!!

kaz - I am 99.9999% sure she'll say it cleans itself, self cleaning oven :rotfl: I have one too now but I spill things on the bottom because I am clumsy and it doesn't clean that bit itself.

Johanne sweetie that's such terrible news, I really hope that they are both ok and on the mend soon. As for stitches, 37 weeks is safe usually now and I am sure it'll be easier to have you all in the same place :D so don't panic. ((big hugs)) thinking of you all.

Just paid off another of DPs accounts :D:D:D that's another direct debit cancelled. Actually I just checked the ones on his account and was 4 I haddn't deleted :o he wouldn't know how to access his online account as I deal with EVERYTHING financially so I have to take responsibility there.

Pigpen, maybe an admin suggestion for study/pc day or at some point as an extra, check Direct Debits on all accounts! Cancelling those well out of date ones etc. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/direct-debit a page from Martin about it too.
One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks everyone for the tips, have taken 2 co-codamol and have paracetamol, beechams flu plus and nurofen liquid capsules. The nurofen has no mention of paracetamol or codeine and i don't have instuctions in the beechams box:mad: . I'm thinking i could take 2 nurofen along with the co-codamol, what ya think??
The co-codamol isn't even touching the pain in up my back.

    Beechams contains paracetamol!!!!

    http://www.mypharmacy.co.uk/medicines/medicines/b/beechams/beechams_flu_plus_caplets.htm

Oh and the caffeine in the non drowsy means usually a bad idea to take before bed :)

Don't go over the RDA of paracetamol http://www.pharmweb.net/pwmirror/pwy/paracetamol/pharmwebpicdosage.html in any 24 hours.

Nurofen Plus contains codeine but normal nurofen usually doesn't, as before check the box.

  • vanilla, its ok to take nurofen with co-codamol but dont take the beechems with it, thats got paracetemol.

what i do when ive got flu is take beechams with ibuprofen and those dissolvable vitamin C tablets that are like a megadose.

    hope you feel better soon.
  • I'm in for sure. Love the kiddies list. Mine actually are quite good round the house (3 girls 13, 11 and 7) although its good to have direction.

Thank God there is a new list pigpen, thanks for posting. I have felt very uneasy without your guidance these last couple of days.

It would be great in theory! But unfortunetly me and baba would be at a different hospital to them! :rotfl: We have a specialist womens hospital in the city centre of liverpool which is where id be and as his parents live opposite side of the city to me they are in the hospital on the outskirts about 6 miles away from the one id be in!

We havent finished our antenatal classes either yet (cos I have been so ill) and the nursery isnt decorated and baby doesnt currently have anything to sleep in......So stitchy stitchy time!....:rotfl:

BTW.. im making light of it cos if i dont laugh im gonna cry!! :)
