What a horrible bully. Don't let it get you down, there really are some awful people out there. What goes around comes around & with that attitude he is bound to do it to the wrong person & he won't know what's hit him. All the best & hope youfeel better soon.CHEAP_AS_CHIPS wrote: »Hi all
Happy easter!
i had an encounter in asda yesterday that made me feel really cheap and downrigt horrible.
i was getting some easter eggs and as they were going through the till, the lady serving me said "i'm sure that last one has been reduced to half price, did you notice what it said on the shelf?" to which i said i didn't notice"
she then called someone over to check and this other person went off to the aisle with the eggs on.
meanwhile a gentleman had queued up behind me and was making noises to another person behind me.
after a minute the man turned to me and tried to shove £2.50 in my face and said "hear take this your obviously desperate and i'm in a hurry" (it was all said in an angry manner), at which point i welled up and asked the cashier to quickly put it through as it was so i could go, i then left the shop crying my eyes out. the man only had 3 things on the conveyer belt and there were plenty of tills. i felt humiliated and like something on the bottom of his shoe.
a year or so ago, i would have stood up to him, but i think because it was money related and i do need every penny, he hit a nerve.
sorry probably not right for the board, i think i just needed to get it of my chest as it has really bothered me since

why do people have to be so impatient. one women in m&s foodhall (milk for work with petty cash - not my own shopping) the cashier noticed the milk was leaking and called someone to change it but did not scan it first. the woman behind was huffing and puffing and i ask the cashier to serve her first the cashier said she would have to have more patience at which point the customer through her ready made cottage pie at the cashier and stormed off!!
can you believe that a ready made cottage pie!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
I think i'd have taken the cash from him, waited on the right price and thanked him very much for realising you had money problems and offering to pay for an egg followed by a comment about how christian like it was of him. All said in the most sarcastic of voices ever
some people have no manners or patience.

I love the fact that this is the bit you are incensed about!! :rotfl: What a true DFW! :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Sorry to hear that story. I would have just said "no" and refused to take the cash off him.
Regards,

What t*at!!
With hindsight, I would have thanked him, taken the money and put it into a charity box, in view of everyone, had there have been one available
In reality, I would have turned bright red, told check out person that it didn't matter, with tears in my eyes, then rushed out with tears streaming down my face and cried all the way home. So you are not alone (hugs)
What comes around goes around. Good Karma and all that!!0 -

Hi CaC, when I first read your post I was incensed with the arrogance and attitude of that guy, hence the tone of my initial response. Now that I've calmed down I'd like to say to you that you have nothing to feel cheap or ashamed about. A persons worth can be measured in how they treat other people and therefore this guy is truely worthless. Hold your head up high because you are better than him and you know it.0 -
He sounds like a complete prack, twot, and gabshoot. Reminds me of a guy a few years back who ummed and ahe-d when I paid for petrol using a cheque.
He made loads of grunting noises about how long it was taking.
"Sorry, have you got a problem"
"Yes, you - I've got somewhere important I need to be and you're holding me up".
"Well, if it's that bleeding (not the word I used) important, get out of bed 5 minutes earlier next time".
And guess what? He was in buying a paper to read on the bus - no petrol or anything:mad:
Anyhoo, I made sure I used my bestest joined up writing and wrote it ever so slooooooooooooowly just to make sure I never made any mistakes. Right enough, he did miss the bus, but when I drove past him at the bus stop, I did wave at him and shouted out, "Do you want a lift?" He even looked at me like I was serious.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

People like that aren't worth bothering about:mad: . I've been in supermarkets though and seen harrassed young mums getting tutted at as they try to pacify a screaming baby and pack their shopping at the same time - some people just have no idea.
I am one of those harrassed young mums, i'm always getting tutted at i go slow on purpose, put my purse away slowly and then pack slowly. I would have asked him if he had a problem and took the money!!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts through cccs
