Some people must have a lot of problems if they have not got the patience to queue at a checkout!!! And be so bloody minded as to insult someone like that is terrible. Do not ever allow such a sad person make you feel cheap and upset you, at the end of the day it was the cashier who had said to you about the price reduction so was not your fault to start with, and even if it had been you who had noticed it was the wrong price, why should you have to pay the wrong price just because some sad act cant keep his patience for five minutes.Hope you feel better now ((hugs)) for you and hope you have a nice easter.:D

I Started out with nothing.....still have most of it left:o
  • sorry to hear you were upset by some idiot who left his manners at home (that is if he ever had any). Thankfully, as DS and I were discussing earlier today, there are more nice people out there than horrible ones. Sending you a ((((hug)))) to try and cheer you up. If it had happened to me I don't know what I would have done. Although there have been some brilliant suggestions in earlier posts.

Some people are just horrible because they can be, but don't let them stop you getting your bargains. I had some money left on an Asda gift card, & after the woman rang my items I couldn't get the blessed thing out of my purse because there was still a bit of the gluey stuff on the back of it. A woman started huffing & puffing at having to wait an extra few seconds, then sarcastically said "Can you hurry up? I am in a rush, you know". I turned round & told her that Asda's open 24 hours a day most of the week, so next time she was planning a shop she should either come at a different time or take more time to get ready before leaving the house, then she wouldn't leave her manners behind. Then I moved even slower. :D Another woman once told me that, if she'd known I was going to take so long, she'd have gone back for some more shopping. I told her that if she was going back, could she pick up a bag of sugar for me as I'd forgotten to get one, & said I'd still be there when she got back. That shut her up. :D

You're entitled to use whatever discounts you can, & there's no reason to pay a higher price at the till just because someone else can't be a bit patient. I'm quick with the replies, so rude people don't usually get the better of me, but even if you're shaking inside, stare them out & just do what you've got to do. :)

I am in total awe of you

I wish I could think that fast, I'd be the same as you OP but I'd like to be the same as you wherediditallgo:cool:

  • rude people are the worst.

I've just got in from my second job, delivering pizza, where I had a customer telling me I hadn't tried to deliver her pizza, I was lying, because basically she hadn't heard the door or the phone.

Politely told her what cars were parked on her drive and suggested she tried 1471 to see what the last number was.

She said she would, then ring back to tell me I was lying.

Baggies is a London saying for pants, but it may only be south London.
That explains it. Where I live, we call them skiddies. You can guess what "skiddy stew" is (apart from gross). :D

I've heard skiddies too, but never skiddy stew:eek:

    Where do you live?

I like the term baggies, its funny & not gross, its non-offensive.

It just makes you think of a funny, over large, mis-shapen, elastic gone, pair of pants.
  • Hi all

Thanks for your kind comments and the funny ones, i never thought i would get so many responses.

i wish i had said something to him and have since thought of many (thanks to you all!) but i just went bright red and cried.

i also thought if my hubby who at over 6 foot was standing next to me, this man wouldn't have said anything.

the worse part was it was really early and quiet and the man was so loud, lots of people heard and i felt them watch me as i left the shop.

i know it's silly but i just couldn't forget it!.

but you have all cheered me up.:o

    thank you all

I had a right charmer the other day-Told me SHE didn't have all day to wait as SHE worked. As I had been up all night with an eye infection -worked all day and was going back to work some more her comments (and tone) went down like a ton of bricks and she got informed how wrong she was on all counts calmly but VERY loudly. After she had gone the checkout woman commented on how out of order she had been. Somehow when the elderly are rude it is so much worse as you KNOW they have been raised to know better.
I don't think there is anything wrong with ensuring you are charged the correct price-anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain foolish and if they feel the need to inform the rest of the supermarket they are that silly-well that's up to them.
