For gods sake, they work hard enough, unsocial hours for minimum (or little more than minimum wages) & have to deal with the very rude public.
I wouldn't begrudge them the odd perk.
I wouldn't want to work with or for the public.
Though in theory I am a public servant, I have no dealings with them.0 -
HappyChappy.....perhaps you ought to have cleared your throat and said "Excuse me Mate...theres a queue here".
Having said that.......its Fish!!! Gawd sake!0 -

Isn't it slightly more weird to be going on so much about reduced fish?
The op seemed to be complaining more about the fact the staff got first choice.vikingaero wrote: »I would be horrified if any of my staff and colleagues ignored waiting customers to serve the staff in preference.
The op said they weren't actually served but just had the stock put by which wouldn't have taken a second.
Horrified? Finding a dead body is horrifying. You obviously have the op's love for exaggeratiing.vikingaero wrote: »not some social lesbian leftwing communist engineering exercise.
Thats what the op's complaint reminds me of.0 -

You ever worked in one?
Yes, for over five years I worked on a supermarket counter. Some customers can be rude but not 'most' by any stretch of the imagination.
The thread isn't about rude customers, its about staff providing poor customer service - it's only been changed round to target the customer because some people on this thread feel that customers have no right to complain when they get poor service from staff (who, by some twisted logic are perfectly within reason to behave rudely becuase they earn low wages)

Well it seems to have been blown out of proportion by a few people including the op who is quiet happy it seems word things in a blatantly exaggerated way so you have to take this in to account when working out what went on.
No member of staff was served from the account the op wrote. The op said one member of staff took it off and another put it into bags. So the length of time that the member of staff wasn't serving was however long it took to move the fish which must have been a matter of seconds.
It's a fact of life that when goods are reduced the staff will be able to purchase those goods as well or have them put back. Staff are also customers and are probably more loyal to their company than most customers so I'm not sure why some people are trying to rank who's important and who is not.
It's also obvious that many members of the public would expect staff to get the first look at reduced stock judging by the replies here so there is no black and white right or wrong here as opinion is divided. So it's not a case of this is poor service as some customers would expect the staff to get the first look.
Apart from the fact some staff had some of the fish put back the inconvienence otherwise seems none existant as the time to move the fish would have only been seconds. That then makes describing the situation as poor service a bit over the top.
The op's "me me me" attitude he hasn't noticed he's got actually seems far worse!0 -
lol so your saying it's fine but don't let the customers see it so they don't get annoyed. Thats what I would have done if it were me, I wouldn't eat left over food though, even if it was from a £55,000 package! They would not have known their losing out, and your right, then they'd be happy. I wonder what the op would make of that?0

I don't know why anybody even bothers posting about poor customer service any more. It has become the norm.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -
I get good service everywhere I go Honeydog, I think it might have something to do with the way people treat the staff.0
